My cat requires to be on this special urinary diet due to history of urinary tract infections per my vets instruction. He just loves this food. He's been on it for over 2yrs and hasn't had any problems with crystals forming, urinary tract infections, or stones in bladder or kidneys. He continues to love this food as he has from 1st day I fed it to him. Will continue him on this food until vet changes his recommendation which is unlikely, my cat will need to be on this food for rest of his life. His stool doesn't stink abnormally as it had in past on science diet. His coat is silky and soft. His eyes are clear. He's going on 8 yrs old and is still active and playful as he was in his early yrs.

My cats eat it, so that’s good. Expensive but it is everywhere. When I just tried to reorder I was hit with a notice that I needed a prescription from my vet. I’ve been buying this (with a prescription) for 2 years. Order was canceled because vet did not respond. I’ve switched to a non-prescription Urinary health cat food. Much cheaper. Hopefully my cat won’t die.

My cat loves the food, the kibbles are a decent size - not too big, not too small - and from day one he's been enthusiastic about eating it. This particular cat has actually had urinary issues and needed to go to the vet for several overnight visits before this food was given to me by the most recent vet. He hasn't had any problems since switching to this food. I also add in water to the food to keep him extra hydrated.My only gripe with this food is that the bag is not recloseable. Even keeping the bag in a container the food still gets stale very quickly compared to the Blue Buffalo food I give my other cat, which comes with a zip closure.

I need this food for my eldest, Jean, who had crytsals in her pee. Since it is so expensive, I mix it with her purina naturals and 3 years later, no problems. I had to order it here because my vet wants me to make an appt just to buy the damn stuff. Last time I went to the vet with her, the DR was wearing some perfume, that my cat picked up, and my other cat smelled it on her for about a month. Everyday was a battlefield. Hissing at night when I am trying to sleep, growling. Screw that, this is only $10 more than my vet and I save all that drama for a time when there is a serious issue with my cat.

My female cat has been free from urinary tract problems since I started here on this (c. 1 year). She also loves it - quite a surprise! At this point I also give her a little FirstMate Grain-Free (c. 1/10th of the UR), and a little canned food. Initially I just used the UR formula, and as she showed complete improvement I started adding the other two back in. It's always good to have a bribe available when you need cooperation from your cat, but primarily she chows down on the UR with gusto.

My cat Boots has had two surgery's already because of crystalline blockage issues, and therefore has to be on a strict diet UR cat food, and he is very picky about what he will eat. I finally found a food that hewill eat and tolerate. It is pricy but as long as he will eat it, and it stops his problems, it's worth it. Just wish they had coupons to help with cost.

The vet gave this food to my one year old cat when she was so sick with a urinary tract infection. I thought we would lose her.This food and the Critical Nutrition saved her life. Highly recommend. You make think it's expensive, but how much are you willing to spend to keep your fur baby well? That's what I thought :) I give this to both my cats every day and no more visits to the vet!

My cat has been happily eating this food for many years, to keep struvite crystals under control. I am told this food is a bit fattier than other cat foods, so at an older age is not as healthy. I am now looking for cheaper and more readily available alternatives, though, since this food is by prescription from most distributors, and is pretty pricey.
