My family and I were going to a museum that was an hour and a half away from our house. We had plans to get dinner nearby but didn't want to eat museum food for lunch. We bought a different Bentgo to keep food warm when we went to amusement parks and our only issue was that it wasn't big enough. This one was PERFECT! We filled it up with some chicken tenders from home and when we opened it four hours later, the food was still warm! I should've put a paper towel in there to combat the condensation which led to sogginess of the top layer, but the rest was great! It's easy, and fun, to use. Our 5 year old said it feels like opening a time capsule. A week after the museum trip, we brought soup to a sick family member and she was impressed with how long it was able to keep the heat in. It's very easy to clean thanks to it's wide moutha nd simple parts. The quality is perfect, and the weight is great!

The canister’s wide mouth opening makes it easy to fill and clean. The handle makes it easier to close. Prewarming with boiling water helped it hold the temperature. Holds an adult size of food. People have said it’s too heavy, when it is full of soup it can be heavier but my 8 year old takes it to school no problem. Being short and wide minimize the space it takes up on the shelf

It keeps the food in very good condition and slightly warm for a long time. The material is very good and sturdy

This bento lunch box is really functional — it does exactly what I need. The material feels sturdy and good quality, and it’s clear it’s built to last. The only downside is that its capacity is somewhat limited, so if you need a lot of food or big portions, it might feel small. But for everyday lunches or snacks it’s perfect: compact, durable, and very practical. I’m happy with it and would recommend it — especially if you don't need a huge container.

Update: seller reached out. Seller reports that this thermos will only keep your food hot for a max of 4 hours. I personally did not see this any where in the listing. Furthermore, I tried the chicken noodle soup one more time and the second time was ice cold by lunch time. Based on the other reviews, it sounds like I may have received a faulty product but the listing also is not clear on product performance. It’s a very cute thermos and it holds a lot of food but unfortunately does not keep food warm very long like other thermos’ on the market. Will be returning. ———————————————————- Does not keep food warm for very long. I have used this thermos for 2 meals since purchasing it. The first was some chicken noodle soup, which it keep a little warm for about 4 hours. This wasn’t great but it was acceptable. I packed some rice to eat with some fish the next day (preheated the thermos with boiling water like I did the day before) and my food was cold 4 hours later. This thermos advertises that it is double insulated and while I can’t feel it hot on the outside, perhaps it’s not keeping the cold out either. Either way, this is an expensive thermos that does not do the job. Would not recommend.

As the weather has turned colder, and hot lunches have become more desirable, I’ve been very happy with this container. It keeps my son’s lunch warm for at least four hours, though I suppose exactly how long depends on what is in it. It has worked really well for soups and stews, and even for pasta and rice dishes. No leaks, no problem opening.

Works great, but make sure you preheat it. I pour boiling water in it at 5:30 in the morning and let it sit for 20 minutes. I eat my lunch at 1 o’clock and my food is still very very hot. The wide mouth is great.

Update: After discovering that this container didn't keep food warm after the 3.5 hour mark, my daughter gave up on this container. She was particularly peeved that her lunch was just slightly warmer than room temp on a particularly cold day, even despite the container being in her backpack in her heated classrooms. We ended up returning it and she went back to her smaller narrow-topped Thermos food container, which kept her lunches piping hot. The Bentgo Stainless Insulated Food Container is everything my daughter wanted in a food container. It has a wide-mouth opening, holds the perfect amount of food (about 2 cups), is conveniently shaped and sized to fit in her backpack, and the lid is one piece instead of two and is apparently easy enough for her to open. While aesthetically everything she wanted it to be, the one thing she didn't love about it was how long it kept her food warm. Even after prepping the container with hot water and allowing it to sit for some time to "prime it", the container wasn't able to keep her meal hot by the time she ate it. Her food was warm, but not steaming, and while it was much better than eating lunch from a Pyrex meal prep container, it wasn't nearly as warm as food put in a Thermos food container. If you eat your meals within 2 hours, the meal will likely be very warm, but at the 5-hour mark, it will only be "kinda warm" - it was for her at least. When keeping things cool, the Bentgo container works great. Overall, while we'll keep this container because she loves the size and shape, we're still on the lookout for a wide-mouth container of this size that keeps food hot.

Great container. Make sure you preheat it (eg fill with hot water and let sit for several minutes) prior to putting hot food in - as it will stay hot longer if you do. Easy to wash.

This is perfect for my 9 year old boy. For me I just needed a wide insulated container he can eat from easily. I know that the narrow mouth types keep food hotter for longer but my son is not looking for steaming hot food. As long as it is warm then its ok. His food stays warm ( hotter than lukewarm) for at least 6 hours. Food like rice, boiled potatoes with sauce, fries,chicken, eggs, pasta (even after 9hrs leftovers doesn't go stale but ofcos i still toss it ...haha). I usually fill it halfway cos thats how much he eats. Honestly, I love this container. It washes well also in dishwasher. I was worried if he will open it easily but he can! so its a plus for me. Someone talked about the rubber stuff on the cover being difficult to fix back. But i figured it out maybe i can explain how to in another review. Good product guys!!!
