A wonderful, heartfelt guide to therapeutic touch
This is a gem of a book for families who want to understand how Indian head massage can help their child. It is written in a readable and personable style. The book is divided into different sections: A&P, traditional medicine styles (Indian and Chinese), then the sequence for head massage, followed by real life case studies, which are incredibly uplifting and inspiring. I really like how Giuliana has put in notes under each massage move that explain how that particular technique affects the A&P and also the mental and emotional aspects. It really helped me to understand the link between touch, hormones, acu-points, meridians, and the chakras. I have done introductory courses in the Indian and Chinese systems as well as A&P, so it was great to see how they all come together in this wonderful therapy. This is a more gentle and rhythmical massage than traditional Indian head massage which tends be more vigorous.I am using some of the techniques on a family member with autism who is sensitive to touch, especially on the head, and she is letting me give her a short massage based on some of the strokes I learnt from the book. I think what makes Giuliana's book stand out is that it has real heart, sincerity, a firm respect for those with special needs or differences, and each stroke/touch has meaning to it. She is a parent of someone with differences, so she know from the inside how therapeutic touch can help. After this book, I am looking forward to attending one of Giuliana's courses and learning more!

A MUST READ TO ANY PARENT WITH CHILDREN WHO HAVE ANY ANXIETIES
I have an 11 year old daughter who suffers with anxiety and ocd and this method of Indian head massage works brilliantly. I actually met Giuliana by chance at Longleat after seeing an advert for her head massage in a local magazine, we had a little chat and after the school break I booked an appointment for my daughter, my daughter was so bad at this point the only place she would leave my side was to go to school, she wouldn't go to grandparents, friends, if I went to the toilet she was by my side, after only 2 massages she was almost back to the happy little girl she once was, she absolutely adores Giuliana, as does anyone that meets her. I purchased the book as soon as it was released and what a wonderful book it is, it gives a real in-sight as to why and how the massage works, I loved it so much i actually booked a two day course with Giuliana learning her technique. Giuliana's mission is to get her work out there to help all the kids (and adults) who suffer in everyday life with ADHD, OCD, Aspergers, Autism, anxiety the list goes on and it really does help. I love giving the massages to my family and might actually branch out and take it up as a career now I've taken the course. As I said earlier a brilliant book, well done Giuliana

This is a 'must read' for all carers & professionals!
In my professional life, I have read many books in an effort to help children with special needs. This one was different, written by someone, a parent, who has had to live with an autistic child on a daily basis. Giuliana's methods make a much needed change to how we see autism & other impairments. Instead of 'coping & containing' it actively encourages carers to see their child's gifts & work towards developing them through treatments designed to help the child relax, sleep soundly & become less stressed. It actually encourages them to respond vocally & direct the treatment rather than just being the object of it! Read 'Does he take sugar?' I thoroughly recommend this book to any person caring for, or working with, children with special education needs.

I really enjoyed reading this book and was dipping back into it ...
I really enjoyed reading this book and was dipping back into it before I had even finished it. It is wonderfully written, informative and even humorous in parts too. This is quite a unique non-fiction book and comes as if written from the heart of a professional yet wonderful lady; who puts her heart and wisdom on the page for all to see. My career presents opportunities of working with children and families with additional needs and I would highly recommend this book to professionals and families. It will not be sitting on my shelf now but will be a constant reference to me. Worth every penny.

Thoroughly recommend
My son (6 years with ASD) loves this. It really helps him calm and relax and gives us a positive activity at the end of each day. Great visual and well explained instructions that are easy to follow and the case studies are inspiring. Just bought my second copy for a friend.
