SOG Evac Sling Backpack CP1001B Black, 18 L

I’ve been using this backpack for almost a year. It is perfect for carrying all my EDC gear. I wear it while riding my motorcycle, or traveling through an airport. Very rugged. It has been dropped, thrown, sat on, and stuffed to almost bursting. No rips, tears, loose seams, or busted zippers. The plastic zipper pulls make getting into it very easy. It’s compact, but not too compact. I can fit a lot of stuff in it, AND keep it organized. Great pouches and pockets for all my knives, pens, sunglasses, iPad/laptop, note pads, chargers, earphones, etc... 10/10 I would buy again, or another SOG backpack if I needed a bigger one. Very well made.

This is an AWESOME pack. Not to mention all the features, it is stitched to perfection. And has amazing overall quality. I do wish it came in camo colors, but it’s really a great buy - love the hardshell covered compartment on top and I easily fit my 17” laptop and all my other gear in it easily (with room to spare). Really like how the backpacking waist and shoulder straps can be tucked away and you can carry it like a duffel bag. Great product. Awesome Buy!

Great pack. It is the perfect size for short expeditions, from day hikes to a week depending on how much you like to rough it.Plenty of room for anything I need to use, and the side expanders that can carry a jacket to a rifle is a nice touch.All in all a very well thought out pack. I did plenty of research before choosing to buy this particular one, as it suitsmy specific needs. I have not owned it long enough to comment on durability, but it seems to be made tough.

Found it difficult to distribute the load on this will walking through roam. Didn't have much in the pack but a battery backup, a raincoat and a bottle of water. Finding the sweet spot for comfort was challenging

While this bag is well constructed I am not the biggest fan because unless you use the waist strap this bag is not comfortable to just sling over my shoulder and walk around with. I would much prefer the option to remove the waist strap. If that was an option I'd give this bag five stars - it does everything else well, but for my particular use case, having the waist strap poking me in the back is a real detractor.

This is my first SOG backpack but not my last! I have several Maxpedition and for a more urban environment I like the sog better. For camping I'll stick with the maxpedition (1,000d vs 500d). It turned out bigger than I thought it would be so I'll use it as a weekend and overnight bag. The quality is great, sticked well, good zippers and pulls. The only negative thing would be if your using this primarily as a duffle bag, (the shoulder straps tuck away) you'll find the handle on top to be pretty small. I could barely fit my hand in. Also the padding in the handle is minimal. it seems like it was added last minute. Since I'll be using this mostly as a backpack It doesn't bother me enough to return it. My next SOG will be the 24 liter.

The sling on this backpack is poorly designed, it does not sit flush on your back and is constantly falling backwards. I was quite disappointed with the comfort of this backpack, especially considering the price.

this back pack is awesome, i love the single strap, i use it when i ride my harley caries a laptop, cell phone, and enough room without being too big or bulky, i love the side handles and the the zipper loops. clean and tight look! very easy to carry on back or carry like a brief case if you need to.fit under airplane seat and very easy easy to access pockets. this back pack is just perfect for my needs
