Garvey Standard Clothing, Attachment Tagging Gun (Tags-40948)

I bought this as my first tagging gun. It works great. As another reviewer said, it doesn't come with any instructions. However, I found a how-to video on you tube and loading the gun is simple. Maybe 1-2 tags out of every batch don't catch onto the clothing and tags, but it's usually because the needle isn't through both items all of the way. Another reviewer mentioned having some trouble and having to hold the tags back when using the gun, but this doesn't hold true for me. Maybe there is a difference in the quality of tags. I didn't purchase the cheapest tags because of the reviews. However, any standard sized tags will work with this gun.Use caution as the needle is super sharp. It does come with a plastic cover so the needle can be covered when not in use.I highly recommend this product. I'd give it 5 stars if it came with instructions.ETA: I'm editing my review to let you know about the quality of the needle. I'm not sure how long the needles are made to last, but the tip of mine broke in less than a month after tagging about 200-300 items. Once the tip broke, I could still use the needle, but of course it made a bigger hole than it was supposed to. I was forced to buy a new needle, which I found here on Amazon. A pack of 4  Regular/Standard Tagging Gun Replacement Needles  cost me less than $2 including shipping and came fairly quickly. So, if you plan on using this gun a lot, or have a lot of things to tag with a deadline, do yourself a favor and buy a pack of spare needles so your tagging will go on uninterrupted.

I purchased this pricing gun because the price was so good. It is easy to use. I had no problems loading the barbs and tagging the items. I will use this only on occasion. I purchased Garvey 1-Inch MicroStandard, Clear, Tagging Barbs (Tags-43301) to use with the gun. The only issue I have is that I based the needle size selection (regular versus fine) based on holes I saw in clothing but I should have gotten a smaller needle. I do not work in retail and so was not sure how large the holes would be for each size needle. I now know to go smaller if there is a question about the size of holes left in the garments. I cannot comment on the durability because I haven't had the gun for very long.

I originally bought the "fine" size gun because of the concerns about the size of the hole this one makes. I also purchased a box of fine tagging barbs. When I used the fine size barbs in the fine gun, the thing jammed right off the bat and it took me 15 minutes to dig the barb out of the needle. I returned the gun for a refund, but was left with a box of 10,000 barbs. I took a chance that the fine barbs would fit this gun and sure enough - it works great! Since the gun came in, I've been going to town getting ready for this weekend's yard sale!

Cant decide on which pricing gun to get? Get this one! Simple to use so simple I cant stop playing with it AND this is the only time I took the time to rate something. The gun is very light weight so I can see how people can mistake it as poor quality. Poor quality to me is something that breaks when using it and mine hasnt. The only thing I would suggest to change? It would have been convenient if it came with taggers, I had to purchase them separately. Other than thst...this one you will be pleased with.

I bought this for tagging items for a garage sale and for re-attaching tags for returning (my husband has a habit of removing the tag before he tries on clothes) clothes I purchased in the store . Please read the instructions first to avoid jamming the unit . It works well and it has been a good purchase . As always, thank you Amazon .

I read the reviews on this product before purchasing and saw that it left fairly big holes so I made sure to put it in a place which was fine for a larger hole to be. I love the product and it has worked really well for me. Even though it does place large holes I'd still buy this again if the need arose.

Gun works good, comes with a standard needle. Yes, it leaves a small hole, if you don't want that hole, order a fine needle. No, it doesn't come with barbs, but you can get 10,000 for $10. It does what it's supposed to, and that is fixing tags to merchandise. I'm very pleased with it and it works good.

I used this tool a lot when I had my store. It's easy to use and works well on medium weight fabrics. I did have problems once when I tried to push it through too heavy a task. The needle pushing rod came off track and I thought I would have to get another one. However, I noticed that it was put together with screws, so I took it apart and was able, after a bit, to fix it!
