Black Panther (Penguin Classics Marvel Collection)

Hi!This is a nice edition of 18 Black Panther comics from the 60s & 70s, including the two Fantastic Four comics from the 60s that mark the hero's first appearance & Jungle Action #6-21.The format is not as large as a conventional comic book, but large enough to be easily readable. The comics are in full color, including covers, and overall, it's a nice edition. The supplementary material is good, but not overwhelming, and includes a bibliography for those who want more.I am using this book in a class on Afrofuturism, and it will be a good addition to our Black Panther section.The book itself arrived in a timely fashion. It had suffered a little bit in shipping, which is not unusual for paperbacks. It was no more harmed than it will be by my usage -- I'm not delicate with books.

A beautiful compendium of some of the best Silver and Bronze Age stories.

I love the Don McGregor mid 70s Panther's Rage stories that make up most of the book. The stories are wonderfully illustrated by Rich Buckler and Billy Graham at their finest. Their creative layouts and drawing craft are outstanding. Included are the first two Fantastic Four stories that introduced the character of the Black Panther with art by the iconic Jack Kirby. I really like the non glossy paper choice used for the printing. It’s the main reason I bought this new edition because the flat paper allows the palette of 64 colors from the four color grid to look much closer to the original comics. Great choice!

A very good book to have in your Black Panther collection. Especially if you want to read Jungle Action without damaging your comic books. Bright colors, pages pop,gorgeous binding

Great keepsake for comic geeks like myself!

I don't need to talk about how awesome these 18 comics are because they've stood the test of time and expanded superhero storylines. This edition is very sleek with high quality and durable pages. Cover is sharp looking. The only thing is the black on the cover gets a LOT of fingerprints and handprints on it.

All three of these books were my Fathers Day presents. They are good looking and a great collection books. I can copy and paste on the other two right. They should have came as a set.

Chegou novo, mas já no plástico da embalagem já se via fragmentos da impressão dourada da capa e de trás! Não sei se fui " privilegiado" mas a descamação é conínua e extremamente irritante, sujando mãos e a superfície! Conteúdo de estórias clássicas por Dan McGregor, encadernação e conteúdo jóia ( que é o que me interessa), mas a impressão dourada na capa ficou péssima!

Collection très soignée, superbe mise en page.Les préfaces sont très intéressantes et instructives.
