I used to knit when I was in my teens and twenties, gave it a break for about 40 years, then dove right back in the past year. Things have changed. Thank goodness. I used to use the 14" aluminum straight needles and the twisty aggravating old style circular needles. After diligent research I first bought the entire set of Chiagoo 10" straight needles for smaller projects and I LOVE them. Then I bit the bullet and bought this 5" complete interchangeable circular needle red lace cable set. INCREDIBLE. I started a hat on the 14" straight needles and discovered that age and arthritis meant that the needles were too long, too heavy and made my fingers hurt. So I switched to the interchangeable needles with the middle size red lace cable and OMG I knit faster, more accurately on cable stitches, and my hands don't hurt. Worth every penny. From a techy standpoint, screwing the cables on is super easy, absolutely use the tightener but don't overtighten (no need), the connection is smooth and yarn slides right over. And there's just something about these red lace cables that makes knitting incredibly easier. They have just enough weight to keep from twisting into knots or cutting into your yarn. You can combine more than one cable to extend the length but I haven't done that yet. Now a note of caution. I bought the 5" interchangeable needles because I work with DK and worsted weight mostly. And I LOVE this length needle. Chiagoo also makes a 4" interchangeable needle set but now that I have the 5" set, I know that the 4" set would be too short for my hands to work easily. So play around with your existing needles and see which length you could handle better for your size hands and the yarns you use. Have fun!

As a beginner knitter, I found this kit to be very helpful. The yarns slide easily & no snag on join areas. The kit seems complete with useful accessories. The stitch markers have been very useful. The cables attach easily & stay attached while knitting. The sizes are marked on each needle, but I need a magnifier to read them. I like the red cable color. There are different sizes for larger needles. Good range of sizes. Instructions are clear. Includes a needle/hook gauge. The needles are sized accurately. The zippered case is a convenient compact size with needle sizes clearly labeled on each slot. It is well made & pretty.

Extremely satisfied with my purchase. Good quality. Pretty case with plenty of storage. I'm covered for any project with the multiple sizes. I really like the very sturdy cords. Still flexible enough for magic loop with some practice. Can easily thread through a lifeline.Needles are smooth and make a lovely sound while working with them. If I worked with slippery yarn I would worry, but I don't. Would buy again.

This set is perfect for someone doing a lot of knitting, the quality is an unbelievable step up from other needles of this style. The case is okay, the needles and cables are beautifully made, and there haven't been any snags.

I am beyond happy with my purchase. I’ve been looking at them for a while now. Finally was a let to purchase. These are a game changer. Knitting is an extreme pleasure once again. I can’t say enough about these.UPDATE: I have now had time to use these needles for a pretty major project. They are so smooth. I feel like I'm gliding through my work. The cables are so nice to work with, no memory and no snags on the unions. These help me knit much faster with the points. If only I could give more stars. BUY THESE

Met expectations - feels smooth and beautiful to work with using varying yarn types. Occasionally the needles will unscrew from the cords. The tightening keys work to help. Would have been more useful if the cables, needles, accessories, were all the same gauge, vs small and large, just for extended versatility.
