Excellent beam pattern!
Let me start off saying I did return these. I have a Impala that uses the halogens as DRL and can bud adapters did not work with them. The lights were only giving off 30 percent light like they should but did not go to full brightness when the light were fully engaged. I did try them in another application and they were beautiful! I would definitely get these again in the future when I have the correct application to use them in.

Doesn't work well for 2018 GMC Yukon High beam
Great product! Quality built, good light placement, excellent output! The way the bulb interacts with the factory harness and power it causes the bulb to Flicker and "step up" in out put when starting the high beam or flash to pass. I tried to resolve this with the anti-flicker harness via Morimoto by suggestion from their support. This has no effect. The issue is a feature that Morimoto has on their LED driver which can act as a DRL when it sees 6V of power (used by many manufacturers) and then sees the 12v for high output and turns fully on. I guess the way the GMC delivers the power it must ramp the voltage on startup or the LED driver sees it that way and steps up. This can be fixed with harnesses and relays, but it's not optimal for direct plug and play. I wish I could turn this stepping feature off because these bulbs are awesome otherwise.

Great lights, but...
First, this is a vehicle specific review, results for different vehicles may vary (better or worse). The vehicle for this review is a 2016 Subaru Outback 3.6R limited with HID main (low beam) headlights and the lights reviewed are for the DRL (daytime running lights)/HB (high beam) combination bulb (Morimoto LED1517 / 9005)I would have loved to have given 5 stars if only these lights lived up to all the expectations created by the manufacturer. The good (5 stars) – the high beams are excellent albeit, because of the shortcomings mentioned below, overly expensive, but still worth a 5-star rating for what they are - lights. The bad (1 star) – the Morimoto web site touts these as a fully functional DRL/HB combination with details specifically stating the DRL will function properly at a lower voltage resulting in reduced light output in DRL mode. This is not accurate in all cases. The site states that anti-flicker harnesses may be needed to eliminate flickering caused by some lighting systems. What they don’t say is that the harness could be the cause of the flickering, which is what occurred in my case. The first set of harnesses (LED1513) were purchased with the lights after contact with the manufacturer to ask if my specific vehicle needed the harnesses, the response was “yes.”After receiving and installing the lights and harnesses I noticed intermittent flicking on both lights in DRL mode (HB mode operated flawlessly). I contacted Morimoto CS and was told to try reversing the polarity which I tried, no difference.I contacted CS again and was told I may need a different harness (H802). I purchased those at more than 2x the cost of the LED 1513. Still intermittent flickering. Finally, out of desperation, I tried removing the harnesses altogether (remember, I was told I needed them), and with one glaring (pun intended) exception, both DRL and HB worked without flickering. The exception? The light output in DRL mode is full HB power - very bright.I will keep the lights but will have to be constantly aware of the ambient lighting and turn on my HID’s sooner than normal (decreasing their lifespan) as dusk approaches so as not to blind oncoming drivers.Would I purchase these again? Probably not as there are numerous other high quality HB headlights available for considerably less money, *unless* they get the DRL issue resolved, then I would not hesitate to purchase these again.Final note. For those pointing out that "technically" after-market LED lights are not DOT approved, this is why I would only use them for HB usage and why I'm disappointed with the DRL functionality.HB is only used when there is no oncoming traffic that could be affected plus, the additional lighting is very much needed by those of us living in very dark (C1/C2 "dark sky") rural areas.
