Very quiet and decent cooling
Using on a Gigabyte LGA 1150 Intel Q87 vPro Dual LAN SO-DIMM Memory slots UEFI DualBIOS Mini ITX DDR3 1600 Motherboard (GA-Q87TN) with Intel Core i5-4590S BX80646I54590S Processor (6M Cache, 3.3 GHz) . The 23mm meant that the additional headroom in a Silverstone Tek Aluminum Top Cover/Steel Body Thin Mini-ITX Media Center/HTPC Case PT13B - Black was about 3mm. Installation was a breeze. It is quiet at low/medium/high (1600/2000/2800 rpm). The backplate is not metallic, and I was worried it would be as there are a lot of components and exposed legs under the mobo. I checked out the Akasa AK-CC7124EP01 which appeared almost identical but it didn't have a backplate, no copper core, and more importantly nowhere to be found. Cooler performance was so so, and to be expected for a cooler of this size. Temps at idle was about 50-55C with Arctic Silver tim on medium speed, going on hi did not help much. For my intended use, ie media playback and light computing it's adequate.Update 10/24/15. Performance has improved as the tim set in. Idle temperature at 41C, extended load at 49C. Still very quiet, I have to put my ear right up to the case to hear it. Bumping it up from 4 to 5 stars.

Great Fan
Great fan and low style that fits in my case. It runs quiet enough that i don't hear it. Im running a pentium chip and my temps average 34C and full load never gets past 47C but ymmv. The screws are so much better then the stock intel fans. There is a back plate that needs to go under your motherboard so everything can be hooked up properly.Cons:The only issue i had is my asus motherboard had two capacitors in the way so i needed to trim 2 of the fins. It was no big deal to do but i advise to check clearance measurements before purchasing.Other Thoughts:I didnt use the thermal paste that came with it so i can't leave a comment about that. The thermal paste that i use for all my builds is IC Diamond and never had any issues. I got temps to drop as much as 10C when compared to using artic silver. So if you want a good paste look into that brand. You can search Amazon for it.

Should be silent
This fan is noisy and it really shouldn't be for it's intended purpose which is likely paired with the Silverstone PT13B case. The ECS Q77H2-TI board I'm using it with has no BIOS controls for fans. I'll have to try the Intel DQ77KB and see if it does have some BIOS controls which might make the noise tolerable. I'm using a Core i7 3770T CPU which is a 45W TDP part so cooling needs aren't that significant anyway and this cooler is rated to 65W TDP processors anyway.UPDATE: I was gone for a week and left the system off and when I turned it back on the CPU fan seems quieter and I'm not really noticing it now. I'm adding one more star. Hopefully it stays this way.

I'm happy with the purchase at this point
Works well. Probably not the cooler that will keep your CPU temps the lowest of the low (my core i3 4170 idles around 35C, but shot up fast under heavy load. Had to cut Prime 95 during testing because temps got too hot 80C+), and not ideal for overclocking. But if used for an averagely loaded CPU where a small footprint is desired, and low noise is your goal, this should fit it. Have only owned for a few weeks so I cant comment on the fan life. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase at this point.

cool temperatures and low noise
I had to remove a screw for the fan to work because the fan would get stuck on the screw. I am hoping that the fan isn't damaged with the screw being off. It was also kind of difficult to install. Other than that, cool temperatures and low noise. I will change my review if they decide to send me some small spare screws.

Good design, poor quality
Out of the box, one of the three screws that hold the fan onto the heatsink interferes with fan blades. One star off for poor quality control. To fix it is easy - all you have to do is to firmly tighten that screw. However, I feel that the margin of error here is still really small. And I am worried that, after some use the screw would loosen up and start blocking the fan blades again. We will see.One star off for compatibility issue with Silverstone PT13B. The backplate of NT07-115x is quite thick, and adds a bulk to the bottom of the motherboard. The motherboard standoffs on the PT13B are too short to accommodate the backplate. As a result, while the I/O side of the motherboard can be screwed to the case, the opposite side effectively rests on the backplate as opposed to on the motherboard standoffs. Since both are Silverstone products, this issue really should not exist. Now on to the pros. I bought NT07-115X to replace the AR04 for better compatibility with ASUS Q87T/CSM motherboard (which has a similar layout to ASUS's H81T I believe). Like other reviewers have noted, AR04 interferes with capacitors around the socket. What's worse for me is that AR04 blocks both USB2.0 headers on the motherboard. The push-pin locking mechanism of AR04 is not well made either, making installing AR04 extremely difficult (which I believe is again a quality issue on Silverstone's side not design issue, because push-pin locking on Intel stock cooler works very well). The NT07-115X, however, has none of these issues. The mounting screws are very well made and installation was a breeze. Thermal paste was given in a tube (resealable), not like the non-resealable bag as in AR04.I probably give up some cooling performance due to the lack of heat pipes compared to AR04. But given my setup (Thin Mini-ITX in Silverstone PT13B case), I value compatibility (and thus easy maintenance) more than anything else. NT07-115X is in fact quieter than the AR04 it replaced, but this is probably a result of AR04 simply wearing out after years of use.

Cool and quiet
I quite enjoy this product. I bought this for a mini itx build for its form factor but was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is. Even under a full load this hardly makes a sound.

Does the job, no unnecessary nonsense
Bought this to cool an Intel Xeon E2176 processor I'm using for a server. It fits very well inside the micro ATX case and is whisper queit.

Excellent pairing with the Silverstone PT13 Thin mini-itx case but best used with 35W TDP CPUs.
This is a nice low profile cooler which I am using with an Asus H410T/CSM thin mini itx motherboard paired with an Intel Core i5-10400T CPU placed in a very small and thin Silverstone PT13 case. With the 10400T's lower TDP of 35W, the temperatures on idle are around 32c to 37c in an ambient of 30c while at full load on prime95's max power test, it goes up to at most 75c. On idle, the fan is also very nearly silent and I have to listen really closely to hear it. On full load, it does become fairly audible though.Out of curiousity, I bumped up the TDP of the CPU to reach that of a regular 65W CPU and did some testing. The fan becomes quite loud and spins really fast, faster than I expected for a fan like this. Temperatures were also reaching 80c to 85c. It does get quite warm, with a 65W CPU, hence why I suggest using 35W TDP CPUs instead, mainly so that the fan won't spin as fast and thereby reducing noise.Installation is easy enough, though you need to take the motherboard out to place the mounting bracket at the back of the motherboard. Instructions were clear and easy to follow and a tube of thermal paste is included for your convenience.Overall, it's a great cooler best used with Silverstone's PT13 thin mini-itx case.

Nice low profile CPU cooler
Does the job quite nicely and quietly.Using on a Mini ITX running a 4th GEN i7Considering this machine will be used for Office\Webthe temps don't go above 50c

Does not cool as well as you'd expect
I have this cooling an i5-9600K sitting in a Silverstone SG13 mini-ITX case (so: a case from the same manufacturer as this fan). There also is a 140mm case fan which is the largest that one can put in this particular case.CPU temperature as measured by "CPU Thermometer" hits 88-92Celsius during a Cinebench R15 run. All-core turbo boost is 4.3 GHz. This is at a room temperature of 25-26 Celsius. Now I accept that the case is very small and extremely crowded, but the reason I bought this cooler was specifically because it was advertised as low-profile for small cases. Also, the bolts on this cooler interfere with one of the RAM slots on my mini-ITX motherboard, preventing the use of that RAM slot.

Cools very well considering its size. Fan is alright. Thermal paste is no good
The cooler performs quite well and is a perfect fit for a custom case mod I was doing that required as short of a cpu cooler as possible. Installing was super easy, just the back plate and then screwing the four corners. The fan can get loud but at lower and moderate rpm it stays quiet enough. The only issue was the included thermal paste was just not good. I had to buy different paste after being unsatisfied with the overheating that was going on.
