She's honey and sunshine...
I so love books told in first person...and I especially loved reading this story from two POV. The male/female POV. Superb! I SO loved Lia Adam's character. How can you not?!? She's so genuine....so human. She's kind hearted, honest and selfless; she's "down-to-earth". REAL. She's a hard worker and doesn't take handouts. The stuff that spews out of her mouth, without forethought, is delightfully delicious...which only makes her more endearing. She's perfectly lovable. She's a petite, free spirited, blond haired/big blue eyed butterfly who is full of trust and love. There is no facade with Lia. No hidden agenda. She's simply and innocently friendly. And she's also dealing with wounds from profound abuse. Deep inside she's very damaged from being raised in an abusive home without affection. She's the strength in the story.Lucian Quinn is tall, devilishly handsome, wealthy and powerful. He owns whichever room he enters. He's brilliant, intense and loyal to his friends. He guards his privacy and is devoted to his friends (whom he treats like family). He doesn't "do" relationships, but rather prefers bed buddies, and moves on. No ties. Lucian doesn't give his trust easily...his experience with money hungry women and socialites is high. He's a troubled man living the nightmare of a past tragedy. But when he meets Lia for the first time...a sincere woman with no hidden agenda...something in him comes alive. He's fascinated and captivated by her. Somehow, some way, Lia has unintentionally wriggled her way into his life and Lucian can't let her go.This is the second installment in this trilogy of strong women, and continues immediately from book #1 Pierced (Lucian & Lia Book 1) The author reiterates events from book #1 to lay her foundation and refresh the readers memory in book #2. Lucian and Lia have both been profoundly hurt by someone in their lives and the damage they each survive leaves trauma in its wake. But now, in finding each other, they've found a renewed hope for the future. This is a story of picking up the tragic pieces of your damaged life, after surviving numerous horrendous assaults, and trying to move forward. Inch by excruciatingly slow inch. Together, Lia and Lucian are clawing their way from their darkness back to the light. This story wrapped its big arms around me and reeled me in from its beginning. It never lost its momentum. It has its tragic parts that are hard to read, but the journey is so worth it. Secondary characters are just as wonderful. I love, love, LOVE Rose (Lia's best friend). She's one crazy, humorous lunatic and the comic relief she lends to the book is timed with perfect precision. She and Debra are amazing women in their own rights. For me, this story is all about the strength of women and who holds the power. Brilliant..

I need the next book!
This book was just as amazing, if not better, than the first book! Lia and Lucian's relationship really takes off in this book and I have to admit, their characters are some of best I've read about! There's something so beautiful and amazing about them when they're together. The story-line was really unique and, like the first book, it kept me up all night reading! Only this time, the book didn't end in a huge cliffhanger, but it will leave you begging the author to give us the next book because you have to figure out what happened after that crazy emotional ending. This book picks off where the last one left off. Lia is trying to heal after her stepfather brutally attacked her. No longer feeling safe, she clings to Lucian, the man she loves, but something isn't working. She loves Lucian. She knows that, but her attack has taught her something: life is short and his secrets, that she thought she could handle, are now tearing them apart.Lucian has come to the realization that he is in love with Lia, his beautiful, amazing, and brave woman. He wants to do everything to make her happy, to make sure she feels safe and loved, but he knows that he's causing her pain, because he's not willing to share his deepest secrets. And he soon realizes that, although he has the power to bring her up, he also has the power to destroy what they have.To find their forever, they need to fight past their demons. But when secrets come into the light, will their relationship be strong enough to overcome the lies? This book was so freaking good! I'm really excited to get my hands on the next book, but I'm trying to be patient. I love how the book didn't end in as big of a cliffhanger as the first book, but it did end in a way that is making me anxious for the next book! I wish I could say so much more about this book, but I'm a bit lost for words right now and all I can say is that I really enjoyed the book and know the next book will be awesome!I highly recommend this book!My favorite quotes:"Oh, Lia, I'm not going anywhere. The only way I'll leave this hospital is if you're with me. You're mine; I'll never let anyone hurt you again.""I didn't truly start living until I met him, and my heart and body will always respond when he is near because he owns them both.""She is so f**king adorable sometimes that I wonder how I ever lived before her. The answer there is simple: I didn't.""Loving you is the first real thing I've ever done just for me. Everything else has just been out of necessity."

Sydney Landon has done it again!!! Love it!
Fractured picks up right were Pierced leaves off and thank God as my heart was racing waiting to find out what happened with Lia. Lia is a fighter like no other heroine I have read before. No matter how many times she's put through hell she comes back. Lots happens in this book and I don't want to give anything away. Enough to say that like book one this one had me from page one again and held on tight until the very end. The cliffhanger wasn't a killer like in book one, but it was still one that broke me and I can't wait for Mended. Well done Sydney Landon! I am not sure how I will make until April but you can you be sure I will be reading Mended the minute it comes out!

It was so good and now I have to wait for book 3!!!!!
I HATE WHEN THE LAST BOOK OF THE SERIES IS NOT OUT YET!!!!!!!!!!Even more when book 2 is better than book1, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!4,5 to 5 stars. So what makes book 2 better than the first one?-more intrigue;-Lia has really to overcome her trauma and is overcome by so many feelings. It's really intense (I love delving in the character's psyche );-Lucian needs Lia like the air he breathes and is all "mine" and protective and everything I love in an alpha male;-her father is not some bastard for once and wants to help her. But "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions"...;-Rose is a basket case but I loved all her tantrums (what's not to love in chick who can shoot a gun, sew, assault a hot male and can also clean up like a Stephord Wife?);-the "Cassie factor" equals futur problems for Luc and Lia, even more dangerous when Monique is banding with her. So, more drama, twists and turns in the future (I've some idea but...);-...And now, I have to wait and hope the wait won't be too long or I'll have a hard time to remember all the details!
