Magnus PB-2 Pan Bar for VT-4000 Tripod

This is a great pan bar for the VT-4000 tripod. Yes, it is designed for the right side but since it rotates freely, can be installed as an additional handle on the left side of the head for a two handle setup.I run 2 handles and have had no problems.

This is a replacement part for the Magnus Tripod pan bar. Unfortunately, I intended to use this for my VT-4000 as a second tripod handle to attach on the left side, but the piece that came with it was meant for the right side. I couldn't remove the swivel piece to reverse the orientation without sawing off the top piece. I did it and it technically works great now, but that was a hassle and it looks kind of trashy.

It's designed UPSIDE DOWN. You have to actually take apart the end and turn it over an HOPE you don't break it. Other than that it's GREAT .

Same length as original tripod arm and no problem screwing in. only thing is, like others have mentioned, it does not align properly as the original but I only noticed it after reading others reviews. It helps with smoother tripod camera moves to use two arms together to lessen jitter. I also purchased the remote zoom to pretend its a pro rig. helps alot!

Unlike high-end tripods, Magnus saves a few design bucks by making the same arm fit left and right side of the head without removing the arm itself to re-position it. Therefore you end up with one arm angled up and one angled down at different positions as you hold it. Annoying, but not a deal breaker for such a good tripod at a low price. Also, the Magnus arms are notably shorter than arms on higher end tripods.

I wiIl need to return this item because when I purchased the tripod I thought the handle was a separate purchase: the fact that itwas included with the tripod purchase was not made clear in the offering listing.
