Very difficult to get a real shaving lather
Disappointing. I’ve used Trumper cream jars and those are 5 star. I was hoping the soap would produce a similar lather but unfortunately it doesn’t even come close. When I transfer the soap from my brush to my face it dries up pretty quickly. I’ve used Taylor of Old Bond Street soaps and those produce much better lather than this one. Not recommended.

Best Shave
Searching for a soap and shave that didn't leave me looking like Freddy Kruger took some time, but there is no need to continue searching after finding George Trumper soaps. I use this along with Merkur blades and safety razor. Great shaving combination.Let the price not prevent you from trying it out, as a soap refill will last several months (I get about 4-5 months of nearly daily shaving). The almond does not have a strong scent. Also, the soap is very moisturizing on your face. No need for additional face lotion on most mornings.

Hard Soap (and hard to lather !)
Difficult to get a thick long lasting lather going. (I'm still working at it !) Also dissipates on the face pretty quickly. Next time I will take my time and over charge my brush with soap. And use a stiff boars hair brush. Then beat the hell out of it in my lathering bowl / scuttle. May be better off with their soft creme (in the tube), which is a much. much better performer.

Terrible Shaving Soap
Even though the price I purchased was severely discounted ($10), the soap is not worth it. It does not smell of almond at all, but some vague perfume scent. The lather is thin and disappears in seconds. This is despite the continual effort to load the brush and presoak the puck. I have other hard soaps (Taylor of Old Bond St. and Mitchell's Wool Fat) and soft soaps (Cella) at hand that all perform far better. The resulting shave was one of the worst I've had in a long time, though very close. Even my cheeks were burning and irritated. The soap definitely looks like it will last a long time but at this point it's a detriment. It has a poor smell, terrible lather, and no protection.

Used for about thirty five years.
I have been a customer of Trumper's since 1985, both in the London shops and by mail order/online. All of their products are top quality. This shaving soap has been my mainstay for all of that time, and I have never been dissatisfied.

Is not new guy friendly.
Sadly I do not enjoy this soap. I've been wet shaving for 27 odd years now. This soap is very unstable , the lather once achieved is airy and vanishes within a minute of application on the skin. I wanted to like the soap. The shipping and packaging was fantastic and rapid. So I do not rate it a 1 star.

BUEN PRODUCTO
UN POCO GRANDE PARA LOS BOWLS NORMALES Y LO TUVE QUE PARTIR EN 3 PARTES IGUALES, MUY PERFUMADO PERO NO DURA MUCHO EL AROMA POR LO CUAL PREFIERO ASI. RECOMENDABLE.
