I bought this dish so that I could leave butter out on the counter to keep it soft.The dish easily fits two sticks of butter, though I suspect it might fit four. The dish itself is made of some sort of ceramic or porcelain, rather heavy in weight.The lid is wooden with a soft, pliable gasket around it. It makes the lid fit very securely on the dish. Notably, the company provides a spare replacement gasket for future use, which I appreciate.For my purposes, this better dish is a little bit bigger and heavier than I might like. But if you’re looking for something this size, it’s very nice, and the lid is a great fit, surely airtight, without being difficult to remove at all.

This butter dish is so very cute and comes in many colors but it is also convenient to have butter stored in for baking dishes that require softened butter. You can get about 3 sticks of butter in at one time. It's durable, has an excellent seal to keep butter fresh and did I mention it is very stylish. We love it and are glad we bought it.

I really like this product alot. It's super useful for me and my family. I love the high quality structures of this. The lid is made from a nice wood with an seal (even comes with an extra seal for it. I find that super useful. I've had it over 6 months now and still havnt needed it. The ceramic is nice and thick. It's dishwasher safe too. I can put a bit more than 4 sticks of butter. I typically just put 4. You do have to cut some pieces of it though. Over all super pleased with this product

This is a simple, yet elegant and sturdy butter dish. It does only fit the smaller butters, so when I buy a larger size one, I cut it in half..and freeze the rest. Very pleased to have a butter dish with a lid.

Super easy to clean for someone who doesn’t have a dishwasher! Although the lid doesn’t close fully with a full Canadian sized butter it still works perfect. Functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The look is amazing, sturdy, easy to clean. Even if it has some flaws, I still like it, does looks good on my table that's for sure.Cons ; About the lid, it's either hard to remove, or it slips right off, there's no in between. Not sure if it's cuz of the butter that the lid slides right off even when sitting on the table but anyway. It's also not made for canadian butter size. I end up slicing half to put in, the other half in the fridge until I can refill it it again, well more like 3/4 in, so it isn't so bad that it doesn't fit as it's always nice to see you got a lol extra before you need to go out and get more butter. About the lid, I end up putting the beurrier upside down, that way the lid don't remove itself literally by itself.

It looks nice, is sturdy, everything should be perfect.... except the fact that it's too small! If you buy butter stick, it's ok... if you buy 454g (1lb) butter, then forget about it! It's not big enough and you have to cut il all along to make it fit!What the h***! I didn't buy a butter dish for which I need to cut prior to use it.Also, if it was not enough, butter is going rancid faster than when left on counter!So, to resume: does not fit with the most common sold butter size + make butter go rancid faster than on counter. Why did I buy that for again?
