I am very impressed with this book. Excellent photos and detailed illistrations. Chapter 1 covers fabrics and factories, chapter 2 stampings and markings, chapter 3 different cammo patterns, chapter 4 covers the zeltbahn, chapter 5 headgear, chapter 6 Luftwaffe cammo, chapter 7 covers Heer smocks, chapter 8 winter uniforms, chapter 9 the Leibermust, chapter 10 non regulation clothes, chapter 11 a comparison to post war fabrics and chapter 12 the Efficacy of the cammo.While I am certainly not an expert, this book is filling in some gaps I had in my knowledge and understanding of Heer uniforms and is answering some questions I had. It is an excellent addition to my small library and well worht the money. Highly recommended.

This book was very informative. It gives the reader a complete picture of how the uniforms were made and used. This book is helpful to both the historian and reenactor.

Great Book

You dont need another book on wehrmacht camouflage if you have this.There are others you can buy and they will help you but this one covers almost everything you will need to know.

This is a decent book. There are mostly good pictures, but many (maybe 20%) are poorly lit and badly edited causing many of the uniforms to have strange colorations. Even the author plainly admits sub-par lighting on a few captions. I was very interested in this book for its coverage of the elusive Leibermuster camouflage uniforms, bat was severely disappointed. It gives a couple (poorly lit) pictures of the couple known examples. No detail shots, very generic description, and for some reason the pictures of the uniforms themselves are photoshopped infront of odd backdrops. Overall a very lackluster attempt

Considering the information available today, I thought this book would be a one stop shopping experience especially considering the price. I have a couple other reference books that combined don't cost anywhere near this one and contain much more information.Layout was interesting, covering in a logical fashion some basic uniforms and items. But many of the color photos are simply repeats of the same markings, same information, same colors just on different pieces. Not much in the way of variety. The period photos were surprisingly lacking. I would have expected many more photographs, color plates or drawings and other more detailed information. The use of modern color pictures was interesting and I have several references like this. I don't have a problem with it, but they should be noted each time as to be a modern photo with period items.With all this said, it is a valuable reference, just not what I expected for the price. It does go into some detail on certain items but fails to cover the same detail on others. I particularly enjoyed the brief information on the manufacturing process including original photographs and the information on the very late war camouflage. However that was lacking in many ways too and I have found some great information on the web that should have been included in the book.Bottom line up front, for the price it's not worth it. Overall I learned very little new, and most of the other information was out there already, so not much in the way of a new reference.

Je recherchais pour du modélisme historique mais aussi pour moi même , un livre spécialisé dans les uniformes allemands de la seconde guerre mondiale , et plus particulièrement sur les camouflage et bien je peu dire que j'ai enfin après plusieurs recherches et essaies trouvé mon bonheur , celui-ci détails les camouflage par saison année et unité , attention après pour la partie historique un minimum d'anglais reste recquis , puisque le livre est en anglais .Autant dire que je suis très ravis de mon achat .

Very good book on showing Wehrmacht camo from Zeltbahns to Winter Smocks, this book also shows a great amount of unseen Camo photos there are a few reanactment photos but they are noticeable and they are in there for colour. Overall this shows a lot of Wehrmacht camo (I mean alot even the experimental marsh camo Clint Eastwood wears in 'Where Eagles Dare') and will help you understand all the different camouflage.

２次大戦中のスプリンターやマーシュ迷彩が載っていて参考になります。特にブラウンバージョンのスプリンタースモックが見れるのはこの本だけかと思います。他にも戦地改造型の迷彩服も見れるのは参考になります。欲を言えば、武装親衛隊の迷彩も載っておれば、尚有り難いです。
