The first time I bought this toy was at Walmart. It became my 4 month old kittens' favorite toy ever. They went crazy the minute they heard it chirp! When you move it around it chirps and they love to have it dragged on the floor or flying through the air. My big fat "I'm just fluffy" kitty even works out until she is panting. The little kitty does somersaults and leaps 3 feet in the air. It lasted over a year even through constant killings. Eventually The feathers fell off and the string broke but i just re knotted it together. The cats still loved it and it kept squeaking right until the end when it was finally murdered and could squeak no more. I used to keep it on top of the fridge where they couldn't get it because they really need to be supervised with this toy. You don't want them to get tangled up in it. Every time I went to the fridge they looked at me so sad that I didn't get their favorite toy down for them. So glad I found it here again on Amazon! I don't think Walmart carries it anymore. My cats are happy and joyful again! I hope it lasts another year but if it doesn't I still think it's money well spent and will definitely buy again and again.

My cat loves this thing. It's his new favorite toy. The only problem I have is that my cat will tear this thing apart, the cord already ripped off the stick so now it's just a mouse with some yarn hanging off it, but it still works.

Our cat (2 yrs old) loves this toy more than any other of her toys. When she was younger she chased this thing around like crazy, but even as she is "growing up" this is pretty much the only toy that interests her. The squeak in the mouse is a bit loud, so I don't use the toy if people are working or sleeping at home. If you have a cat that loves to attack things, this is a good toy. The string broke and detached from the mouse body after awhile, but we continued to tie it to the mouse's ear loops. Lasted us months, and the squeak stayed.

I am adding this above because this particular item that I ordered did break quickly. The strings pulled away from the stick right away. The squeaker still works and she likes to play with the strings, but it did not last as long as my original toy. The strings that attach the toy are 3 loosely woven or braided together, and they just popped off but not after much use like the previous model. We found her original mouse, and I cut out the old squeaker and re-sewed it, and she loves it as a small loose mouse toy. It was plush though, rather than burlap like the newer one. The notes below are from our original posting.I am ordering a new toy because my cat's toy also fell apart, but also after heavy use. This toy was a gift from my sister, and I was skeptical, but my cat CeCe went bonkers for it immediately. Cece plays hard and plays a lot. She thinks it is the best thing ever. I thought she would be disenchanted when the feathers were all gone, but she still loves the squeak. Humans do find the incessent squeak annoying and loud but CeCe loves it so much that we played with it anyway. The cool part about the squeaker is that it squeaks on impact, like when the cat grabs it or hits it, like a real animal would. The squeak sometimes sounds like a song bird.The squeak is less frequent now but CeCe still likes the anticipation of the occaisional squeak. The mouse finally broke off the string today, and after she lost the mouse, she came back to play with the string left on the stick. This is the "Velveteen Rabbit" of mouse toys.Cece the perpetual kitten would give the toy 4 stars. The only reason she would give it 4 stars and not 5 is that the toy would stop moving sometimes (like when her owners went to sleep or went to work.)The toy only lasted 2.5 months. However, many toys are still around after years because the cats do not play with them much.(On the side, Cece also loves the little white and grey mice that rattle, especially the ones made with real fur. I buy them in bulk, and periodically dig them out from under the couch, out of the closets, and etc. Often I find mutilated bits and pieces. That's love.)

The media could not be loaded. I have a Pomeranian Chihuahua mix. My bf has this for his cats and I discovered how much my dog loved it. So I ordered her own. She has been absolutely OBSESSED!! I’m storing it in the closet because I honestly don’t think she’d stop playing with it! I have NEVER in 12yrs seen my dog so HAPPY! She won’t stop sitting by the closet and facing it, waiting for it to come back out! My pup is small and doesn’t play rough so this is great so far. Even if the stick only lasted a few days, it’s WELL worth my dogs happiness! I might actuallyj regret it because the noise box and I’ll probably be dreaming of tweeting birds until this battery dies!The tweeting literally sounds like a bird, my bfs is old and still tweets perfect, has enough give for me to swing around, her grab and pull, and it’s lasted through the day so far with no problems.

I ordered a wand toy that was advertised as Play and Squeak. The squeak part was the only reason that I ordered this toy! My cat had a previous toy that did squeak and he loved it! It sounded like a little mouse. This toy does not squeak at all!!! I am very disappointed and so is he! He’s not really that interested in it. False advertising don’t buy this toy and don’t buy from the seller!!!

I had a couple of these for my cats and they loved playing with them. The toys I had lasted a few years, but after some wear and tear it was time to replace them. Keep in mind that I used them with multiple cats, some are fatties, almost daily. I love when a cat catches it and tries to walk off with it in victory. I have a colony of cats on my family's property and I have one indoor cat named Phoebe. It is Phoebe's favorite toy and gives her some good exercise. It's also been helpful in socializing some of the wild kitties outside. They see me as a source of food and play.

Kitty sound is perfect but the cord was too short. We added more cord.

You will think this is just a simple, classic toy. Think again. The cat loves it so much, and doesn't get bored with it aftera while. He likes to bite it and scratch it with the front and backpaws and it is very funny seeing him doing this play. The squeakingmight be it's strongest point, I couldn't tell why the cat loves playingwith it so much. It is very strong when the cat bites it, but I pulled ittoo hard and managed to brake the wire once. I fix it and now, if Idon't pull it very hard from the cat, it does not brake again. But whenit broke I was so stressed myself not having it that I bought two more.Now I have three, all working OK. It is one of our best toys, I'm very happywe have it.

Mouse came off the stick the first 2 minutes cats played with it. Not recommended for adult cats. Maybe for kittens.
