The Car Charger for Phantom 2 Quad copter from DJI allows you to charge the battery for the Phantom 2 and the Phantom 2 Vision from a car cigarette lighter plug, or from a portable 12 VDC battery that has a cigarette connection. Note that this is not a universal RC battery charger. The Phantom 2 battery has special regulation and power management circuitry built-in; whereas typical RC batteries require a separate balancing lead to manage recharging.

Great charger for people who are on the go with the Phantom.
I bought this charger for my Phantom 2 Vision plus V3 quadcopter. I carefully inspected the specifications of this product because there is a difference between the voltages through the Phantom series quadcopter batteries. Mine has a 3S 11.1 Volts battery, and you should check yours first as well because this won't work with other Phantom series (like 3, or 4) but Phantom 2, Vision or Vision Plus only. The package contained the original box and the unused, genuine charger. I am very satisfied the overall quality of the product. I just plugged in to my car's 12V cigarette lighter using the adaptor (one side of the cable) and the other side to the Phantom battery. Immediately started charging. (Depends on your car's wiring, first you might start your engine before you plug this in in order to get power) Average charging time is around 1:40 minutes, depending on how much capacity the battery you have. Original battery capacity is 5200 mAh. Yes you could get cheaper "DJI" products on another sites, but one thing I can tell that those might not be genuine. And when it comes to battery chargers, I would strongly recommend to use original equipment, because these LiPo batteries are very sensitive to the amount of voltage you are charging them with. I have seen swollen batteries because of "cheap" chargers which were not set for the proper voltages. You should also consider buying LiPo battery charging bags, just search for it.

Worth every penny
I can’t believe they used to charge $100 for this!

spendy but worth it!
This was over $100 when I bought it, but well worth the $. I found that it blew fuses in my truck on one outlet, but not the other. I therefore assume that it draws a fair amount of current, but I never had any problems with it drawing the battery down to far to worry about starting the truck.

Have not had an opportunity to use this very much, but when I have it seemed to work just fine. Unable to give an accurate time frame for a complete and full charge. But, it seems to be a good quality devise.

Lightweight and portable but expensive!
These are great for portability but I think they're too expensive for what they are

Works as advertised.
Works great. Takes about 80 minutes to charge the DJI P2 lipo battery from 50% charge.
