Gravel is an amazingly great book packed with information that has been exceedingly helpful to me.
Gravel is an amazingly great book packed with information that has been exceedingly helpful to me. The author has provided just about everything you could want to know about racing in a gravel grinder. The book includes information about what type of things to look out for when purchasing a bike, gear, etc. There is Information on nutrition and hydration. She includes tips to aid and gotchas to watch out for. The book includes a training plan to help the reader to prepare for a race. Though loaded with valuable information, the book is easy to read with a pleasant tone. Now, I just wish she had training plans on TrainingPeaks to cover different scenarios.

Just relearning the joys of cycling.
I bought the book because I have a gravel bike on order. I was a road biker/bikepacker in my younger days. I have reconnected with the bicycle again at 76 years of age and have done so for pleasure and fitness. I live in a rural area and most of the roads are gravel and my road bike does not love them. I am anxious for my gravel bike to arrive and look forward to a many year love affair with it.Chuck BaileyUSA

Great book!
I'm a long time road rider who go into gravel a few years ago. I had been reading magazines on gravel riding for years but felt I still had much to learn. After struggling with a few smaller gravel events, I found the idea of doing something like Dirty Kanza terrifying. This book really lays everything out about gravel riding. The chapters on gravel riding technique and nutrition were particularly informative. I realized that my past struggles in gravel events had more to do with gear issues, single track technique and problems with nutrition than my physical fitness. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to ride gravel in any form.

Geared toward Gravel Events
This book has a lot of good information for anyone who wants to ride gravel. There are pointers about most of what you need to know to have a good and safe ride, from tire pressure range recommendations to what to take on a ride to exercises to be a better gravel rider and how to approach gravel riding, especially if you're coming off road cycling. Yeager includes basic training plans for those who want to do a gravel event, as well.
