I purchased this as a gift for a friend who just got a second dog. My review therefore, is based on the feedback she gave me about this product.That being said, if I could give this 10 stars based on what she said, I would.She'd purchased a leash splitter on her own, and had just returned it because it didn't work for them.Her feedback and reasons she loves this one:- there's about 15lbs difference between her two dogs and the adjust-ability of this accommodates the height difference. As the new puppy grows, that ability to adjust the length will still make this functional.- the coupler she returned, did not work because it did not provide enough distance between the two dogs. Again, not a problem here because you can adjust the length of this one.- her older dog is very calm and well behaved. The puppy is a puppy. The handhold on the coupler allows her firmer control of the puppy when needed, while still allowing the older dog a little leeway.- the swivel is a godsend. The puppy can be a puppy, the dog can still walk calmly, and the leash does not tangle.She's only been using this for about a week now, but I've gone on walks with them and witnessed how well this works first hand.Durability is still in question however, the feel and visible construction look like it will be durable and hold up well.

I think this is a great product! Virtually untangle-able! Gives me great freedom to walk two dogs, which would seriously be unmanageable with a traditional leash because my dogs are crazy. I love the two little handles that allow me to reign my dogs in when I need to. I can't speak for the ultimate longevity of it because I've only had it for a few weeks, but it FEELS solid and I think it will last. I've never used a double leash before, but seriously, I love this thing - and the price is great! Absolutely no regrets with my purchase. I would recommend this to anyone with two dogs.

I have 2 golden retrievers, one nearly 2 and her pup, 5 mos. I ordered this coupler to help train them to heel side-by-side, along with some collars to help deter pulling. I really like the quality and look of this leash coupler and the handles are super-soft and comfortable. I would love to give it five stars but the length is just too long to add a center leash. Any extra length beyond the coupler's original length allows the dogs to surge ahead and therefore the added leash needs to be folded up or wrapped around your hand to take up the slack. Even a tab leash of 8 or 11 inches is just too long. For bigger/taller dogs this leash needs to be much shorter if you are going to add another leash to it. Personally, I would like to see just a clip-on handle for it, obviously with the same padding and color. With that, this would be perfect for heel-training golden retrievers and other like-sized dogs. (Note: my dogs are in training. Once they have mastered the heel command, any length leash will be fine. Even so, I like to keep mine on a short leash for many personal preference reasons.)

Love this double dog leash! I have a Maltipoo and King Charles Spaniel mix that love to go walking. This leash makes it much more pleasant for my girls and me since it does not get tangled when they decide to cross over and under each other. It just swivels around and they keep going. I have used it with my retractable leash and with my regular leash, which both work well. I like the retractable leash better since I can lock it and not have to wrap the extra leash around my wrist. The separate handles also are very handy when one needs to stop and the other one keeps going, you just hold the one back you need to stop while the other one does their business. It didn't take too long for them to get the hang of walking side by side, and they do not mind it at all. I wish I had this leash years ago with all my other doggies. You will not be disappointed with your purchase at all. This is light enough for my two 14 lb dogs, but would be heavy enough for larger dogs as well. It may be a little too heavy for the toy dogs that are 5-8 lbs or so. I love that it is made of heavy duty materials and the cushioned handles and awesome. This dog coupler is soooooo much better than the first one I bought (another brand). I have a 25 pound beagle and a 60 pound lab/beagle mix so they are pretty uneven in size. The leash is a bit too big for my little guy (the beagle) but it does work and they walk much better together on this than the other one I had. They don't get all tangled up (at least not yet) like they did on the other one. They are able to move independently easier and I like the added handles on each side. The leash is built very well, it's made with a strong material, feels solid and I feel very confident the dogs will be held if I need to hold them back. Having those handles on each side is fantastic. Unfortunately the beagle loves to try to pee on his sister when she squats (a very bad habit he just adopted) anyway I was able to pull him back without disturbing his sister using those handles. If the larger dog lunges at another dog those handles hold her back easily. They are very comfy too. I have only used it a couple of times but so far I really like this a lot. I may get the lead that goes with it too and looking at the harnesses. I don't like collars anymore and this looks like it would be comfy for my puppies.
