Best customer service and warranty!!!
We had our pump a few months short of 3 years, when it just stopped working. I contacted Alpine and we were within the warranty period and they sent us a brand new pump. I have never dealt with anyone that agreeable - customer service is great and we are pleased with the new replacement pump.

Great warranty support
The bad news is I'm on a 3rd pump over a year's time... I purchased the 2800 model in April 2020, and it failed 2 months later. Customer service for a warranty replacement was great, though, so had a replacement working in June. Unfortunately THAT one failed after about another 10 months. Once again, they have sent another replacement pump at no charge, so we'll see if that one lasts longer. I'm hoping it's just "luck of the draw" that I received a couple bad units since reviews here talk about them running for yours. Best, though, is that they obviously stand by their product with the excellent warranty service replacement.BTW, this is being used for a waterfall in a pond with very clear water and never run dry and never iced over, so no obvious reasons for the failures.

Nice quiet pump, low power usage
I like this pump. Its a good price, very quiet and pumps very efficiently. Electric usage is fairly low. What I don't like however is its longevity. If I get three seasons out of it I am lucky.I have two running six months out of a year and none have gone beyond three years.I hope the company can rectify this.

Excellent Value, Quality Pond Pump
After almost six seasons of 24-7 service, the very expensive Laguna 2400 was failing. We needed another pump to run the water feature and filtration system in our 750 gallon koi pond. Somehow I discovered Alpine, a brand I had never heard of. It had a debris-blocking cage like the Laguna, a 100% magnetic drive (the Laguna looked to have a hybrid when we took it apart, but it could be 100%), it was energy efficient, and had the capacity to turn over 2800 gallons (almost filtering the entire pond 4x/hour). Plus it was half the price of the Laguna. We got the Square Trade extended warranty with it for a few bucks more (the reimbursement it provides for shipping to repair or replace more than pays for it). The pump was bigger and heavier than the Laguna and yeah, its red cage locks and emblem need a rethink, but it provides smooth, low-vibration performance. Another great feature is the pivoting connector where the house meets the pump. It's very accommodating to pump positioning and how the hose relates to that. The hose is very relaxed and sits naturally rather than having to bend in an awkward shape coming off the pump to a vertical right angle and out to the filtration ssystem. No clamp required. With the Laguna, we had to torque a clamp to keep the hose oh that connection and the hose would STILL disconnect at random. The Alpine is thoughtfully designed, well made (USA!), and reasonably priced. We're so pleased with this pump.
