Self cleaning is the nozzle not your toilet. So when you are turning it off, it squirts water inside its nozzle to clean it off. We love our bidet what we are learning how to use it! Sadly, poop will kind of spray on the back of the seat, so I have to keep reminding my family to wipe the seat!! No one wants to come in and see little flecks of your old business!! ;) Real bidets are in the actual bowl and shoot up, so I assume that they are a bit cleaner than a bidet attachment. Hope that helps. I also looked at lots of them and some listing have videos of how it cleans. I really like the soosi though. It has butt and female sprays.

How do i get hot water? i have both hoses hooked up correctly. water works when i pull up, but if i push down down i get nothing.
