Abigail Hair From the Mouths of Sirens

This is a great read! I went into this book knowing that I wasn't too big on tournament game plot lines, but a reimaging of The Little Mermaid was something I did like. I was impressed by how beautiful Hair created the different realms. Each place is so unique, and the descriptions are marvelous. They're detailed enough for me to visualize without being overburdened by prose. The lore of the Titans is tragic and beautiful, and Hair does a terrific job linking it to present day.The two main characters work well together, each with their own history, beliefs, and values. Despite all of that, they are more similar than they are different. The tension and drama leading up to the tournament games was just enough to get me excited about where these two characters were heading. Being a huge Little Mermaid fan, I spotted certain scenes that mirrored the fairytale, giving me many A-ha moments! The tournament scenes were fun and scary to read! And the finale blew me out of the water! Loved it, loved it! So wickedly bad ass! I cannot wait to read more!!

I was sold as soon as I heard enemies to lovers meets hunger games meets little mermaid. Lucky for me, I got to be a beta read and lemme tell you — it did not disappoint. The dynamics between characters are great, my shipper heart felt so at home, and the world building is excellent - a lovely balance of details that leave you immersed without feeling overwhelmed. I am super excited to see what the final version looks like, and pumped for what’s in store in the book(s) to follow!! 😍🧜🏼‍♀️🌊

The book itself is extremely beautiful. The hardback book underneath is made from such quality and the cover art is even better in person. Patiently waiting for the second book.

This was a fun story with great character development. I really enjoyed the dual POVs throughout this book. It was a really fun way to explore this new world and the political and emotional dynamics of the continent. I'm excited for book 2.
