This product was ALMOST exactly what I wanted except for 1 thing, it doesn't feel like 30lbs spring tamping!The quality of this product is great, it's heavy, it looks good, it does what it's suppose to do, which is achieving even tamping easily. I have used several espresso tampers which claims to have calibrated 30lbs spring tamping and they all feel heavier than this one. I don't know if the one that I received is defected or that's just how this product is.. I might return this if I find something better. The fact that it comes with a base is a big bonus.

It looks and feel nice, but its descrption is wrong. It has a single spring whose only action is to excert pressure only on the filter rim. The actual tampering force is the manual downward force minus the compresion of the spring, times the restitution force constant of the spring (Hooke's law).Bottom line: it is a coffee tamper that helps to control the thickness of the tampered coffee contained in the filter. The 30 lb constant force feature, does not exist. It must be an error made by who did the description of the product.This tamper deserves 5 stars, but needs to have the right description; the 30 lb constant force is a concept that belongs to a double spring model.

I ordered it before there was any review and paid about $45. I have been using it for about 45 days and it works very well. It does everything it supposed to.

I have no problems tamping. Works very well. Material is top notch, good weight to it but doesn’t seem to heavy. Puck comes out clean after knocking out.

Every morning I make a double cappuccino and this tamper is just part of the routine, it works well and i get a consistent press every day, it's easy reliable and fells REALLY good in my hand. 5*s across the board.
