This simple buckle makes putting on and taking off the Herm Sprenger prong collars so much easier and convenient. Unfortunately, when I first bought my dog's Sprenger collar for training I didn't buy it with the buckle included. That was a mistake. Fortunately, it's a pretty simple installation and makes all the difference. So if you didn't purchase a Sprenger collar with a buckle already installed, get this one! It's stainless steel, too, so it will last and not rust.

I am older, and don't have the strength in my hands to deal with trying to connect the prongs. Plus, my dog has long hair, so it's difficult to see what I am doing. This buckle is sturdy with 2 levels to keep the collar secure on the dog. But most important to me is that it is now easy to put the prong collar on my dogs. I don't know why the Herm Sprienger prong collars don't come with them.

Very convenient slip and works perfect.

This works really well and it is easy to install. It makes putting the prong collar on so much easier and so much faster than before. My only complaint is that with the addition of the quick release it makes the prong collar about a 1/2 prong too big. If you remove another link then it makes it too small. So that is really my only complaint about it.

Must have for a quick easy release on the Hermspringer prong collar. Worth the investment

Highly recommend!! I hadn’t used a pronged collar before but the Herm Sprenger was what our trainer suggested for our gsd puppy. Getting that on and off was tricky. I found this product & ordered it, hoping to find an easier way. This arrived very quickly. I was able to attach it to the collar easily (removing a few prongs to adjust for the length of the clasp). Now getting the collar on and off is done in a snap! Bonus is that the small weight of the clasp helps keep the collar centered on her neck correctly. Without this clasp, the collar would slide a little and I’d have to try to adjust it without pulling on it.

I thought this would make it easier to put on and take off my dogs prong collar, but it takes just as much time and is a little more difficult because my dog isn’t used to the buckle being attached under the neck as opposed to on the back of the neck behind the ears. It’s not the worst thing in the world and ultimately just comes down to training the dog to get used to a difference process, but it didn’t save the time that I was hoping it would.Because the buckle is so sturdy and secure and actually takes quite a bit of force to push it in and release the buckle. On one hand that’s great for security knowing that it won’t fall off if your dog is trying to get away, but on the other hand it’s a bit annoying to deal with it every time you put it on and take it off.I gave it five stars because it’s probably the best one on the market as far as reliability and strength, but I’m not sure it’s a necessary item as it requires you to remove some prongs from the collar to make it fit the same.
