I couldn't get the HDMI cable to work but the sound is still 100 % better. Glad I got this; it improved the sound so much. Sometimes I couldn't hear what people were saying, it's coming through loud and clear now.

Working the remote to raise and lower the volumn is an issue as it takes what I would consider too long for the volumn to decrease or increase. You need to hold the volumn button and wait as it changes, that's the one knock I see it having.

It's easy to hook up and the sound quality is good.

Ok first of ALL I LOVE this Sound Bar. You will need something like the Roku 4K or if you have a smart TV will work as well. The TV that I have this setup on is not a smart TV so I had to use my ROKU 4k. You can use it in areas with not much room. I purchased this because it may work however I needed it to I thought. But it worked better than I thought it would. I tried using it like a normal SOUND BAR, But not enough room. So I used the stand that it came with to put the speaker behind the TV as you can see in the photos. You will need to use the HDMI and OPTICAL to make it work correctly. Hook the Roku HMDI to the TV, Then the Optical from the ROKU to the Sound Bar. I also use the BLUETOOTH to listen to music on my Phone. The remote that comes with the bar work great. Just hit the Bluetooth button for Bluetooth or Optical to get sound. It is very easy to pair to your phone.I GIVE IT 5 STARS!!!

OK. So here it is. Using headphone out which worked perfectly on headphones for years. Plugged in soundbar into the same known-good (no! known-perfect) output. Sent some audio output. Checked with headphones first. All good. Then unplugged headphones and plugged in soundbar. Pushed AUX button soundbar remote. Waited. Silence. Waited for soundbar to detect input path. Slooow. Suddenly came on loud loud loud. OK. Overdriven. Reduced source volume to 30%. Adjusted soundbar (via crummy remote, BTW) to perhaps 25%. Good?. No. In silent passages, noted huge bass buzzing. OK. What to do? Pause the CD to stop audio signal and listened. Expected silence, of course. But NO! Buzzing and crackling. For those who care about signal-to-noise ratio: much too much noise. Where did that come from? Amp in soundbar. Why? Likely interjecting audio envelope modification to compensate for speaker deficiencies. Namely upping the bass (a lot) and treble accordingly. This is OK in bluetooth compressed audio from, say, an Iphone to compensate for lo-fi. But if you can send in a full spectrum audio (and I can via superb Sony system) this feeble soundbar is utterly blown away. Return it, young Jedi, you must do. And warn others...

Great soundbar! Came in two parts that you can either:-- Connect to a larger barOR-- Connect to two bases (included in box) for more of a "surround sound" like experience.You can connect the bar with either a headphone jack, optical connection, or component cables. I was able to connect it to my older TV with the headphone jack (just the AUX cord). The remote takes AAA batteries and I was able to set it up fairly easily without tools needed. While yes, you could mount it, I chose not to.The sound quality is pretty decent for a sound bar in this price range. You can even connect bluetooth devices to it if you so desire for an additional speaker. I've not had any problems with it after using it for well over a month now.
