Works Great for my Audi!
I bought a 2012 Audi this August and I love it. While comparing it to my Momโs 2011 VW Touareg, we noticed that it has the same features as herโs, including the music interface adapter in the glove box. But she didnโt have the usb cable. I saw this and thought โwhy notโ. I plugged it in and at first it didnโt see it, but thatโs because I plugged it in before starting the car (whoops) So I unplugged it and plugged it in again and the car saw it immediately. I put it a usb stick in it and it saw the mp3 files the I put on it. And I can control the music with the dials in my car. I love it!

Did not function
Does not work for smartphones or USB thumb drives, just pulses power on and off as noted by the phones battery charging status and flash drives LED light.

Great connector for your phone to the car.
This connector works well and is very clear sounding. It easy to install and arrived in two days.

Works
This is confirmed working on MMI3GP. The AMI connector required a little more effort to insert than I'd prefer, but does fit once it's aligned properly. Other than that it's a simple and functional cable. I hear that other earlier versions of the MMI may look for different resistance levels on the pins so depending on the generation of the MMI it may or may not function.

Worth having when needing an extra USB port
Great adapter to have to make it universal to have for charging apple or android

Drains my phone
I bought this to use in my VW GTI as a charger for my phone. I was super excited when I finally figured out what kind of adapter I needed and found one for a reasonable price. It all seemed great at first, until I realized that instead of charging my phone, it was actually draining it. Completely the opposite of what I wanted/needed! Not sure what I can do with this now. Could be useful if you wanted to move data from one device to another or if you don't have Bluetooth in your car, but it's a complete fail when it comes to charging. Alas, it's too late to return.

Fit and worked perfect for the application I needed.
Works well as a charger, doesnโt produce sound from cable.
