We found that our shower tray drains were blocking very quickly with hair and towel fluff. Applying this tape immediately solved the problem. A single application of a cut length of tape lasts easily for a few months, can be cleaned routinely with a single sweep of a finger, and is easily replaced once worn out.

Moved into a property with a long slim letterbox-style drain, I looked at the flower-shaped silicone with suckers but would need 2 to cover the hole, and others had said a lot of hair still went down the drain. saw this and was dubious that it would work and felt it would either be too weak or glue or way too strong. but figured I would give it a go. It was easy to install and the squeegee is useful to make sure you get a good seal. If I am shaving my legs it even catches those hairs which is good but gross lol, at first I was removing and throwing them out but this was weekly, so I have now started to clean it by using some tissue paper, but still replace it after a few weeks. Would recommend. The only reason for 4 stars is that I will have to repurchase quite a lot, whereas the other solutions I was looking at are one-off and long-term.

I finally got round to putting this over my rectangular shower drain. There were no instructions included, so I simply cut to size, pulled off the backing paper and stuck down, using the tool to smooth it down for good adherence (on a totally dry floor).The first time I washed my hair I noticed that the water drains away much more slowly than previously - the mesh is very small and I guess this is the reason why. This could be an issue if you had a very shallow shower tray but was ok for me- just. When all the water had finally drowned away, I got some loo roll and swiped it over the mesh and did collect some hair, so it's obviously doing the job.Not sure how often I'll have to replace it, but cleaning out the trap of manky mouldy hair is one of my least favourite jobs ever (barf) so this is one product I think I'll persist with. I made sure the trap was clean before I applied the mesh and it will be interesting to see if it's clean when I replace it.

I don't think this can be used for long term as the water stuck doesn't drain properly. It can probably solve an emergency situation but definitely not a long term solution. The tape itself is quite thin and in general it needs to be changed every week.

Works almost too well. Catches every little bit of hair so we just constantly take it off so water can go down. Still better than clogged drains
