We bought this knife sharpener specifically for a new Japanese style chefs knife to ensure proper care. We don't always use each stage when using, we really should, but it still works very well each time. I've used this sharpener on almost every kitchen knife we have and it makes prep work so much easier, faster, and safer!

I’ve used this for about a year now and it works well. Be careful with the coarsest stone as it can pit your edge. Used with a honing steel it’s kept my knives in top shape.

I was nervous about buying on line after reading a number of negative reviews about other similar products. This seems free of those problems: it's sturdy, ergonomically designed, and certainly effective. I have sharpened all my "everyday" knives and got excellent results. I'm having a little more difficulty getting a really good edge on a mezza luna, but that's probably because of the awkward shape and because it was originally honed to a different angle, so I think there's more preparatory work to be done. I haven't yet had the confidence to use it on my best knives - ceramic and santoku - but I don't have any reason to think it will not perform as well on them as it has on the others.

I am a novice at knife sharpening and this sharpener really is amazing. It has three different slots for three different stages of sharpening. The first is to straighten the blade and remove any burs from the blade edge. The second recreates the bevel and gets the edge ready for finishing. The third slot is the final step and sharpens the blade, giving the knife a perfect cutting edge. I would definitely recommend this product.

Kitchellence sent me their Kitchen knife sharpener free after I did not receive the one I ordered. My husband has taken it to the boat and use it to sharpen his knives to clean fish. It has taken the work out of cleaning fish caused by a dull or half sharpened knives. Now the knives glide through for easy fish filleting.
