Don't buy a U-Line ice maker unless you want paint in your ice cubes and are willing to only get a 90 day warranty. My ice cubes are showing up with paint chips from the ice maker. Unless you want to inspect every ice cube made, you WILL eat paint chips that come from the ice maker. I contacted ULINE and their attitude is TOO BAD, SO SAD, and is not even willing to replace the ice maker with something safer. Additionally, U-LINE, the manufacture offers a 1 yr warranty, but if you don't buy it from ULINE then you only get a 90 day warranty. This item is much more expensive than other ice makers, but sometimes you have no choice. Well I was not aware of the "only" 90 day warranty, and I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought this overpriced item. And, as you might have expected, it stopped working after 8 months so I am out the $315 I paid for this.The paint on the cups that make the ice cubes peals off and sticks to the ice cubes. This could be a toxic issue!!!, but they don't care.

For the application I had for what should be a standard ice maker—I opted for the ULine branded part—essentially the reason was that it had a cord with a modular plug that was the same as the original, so no splicing wires. Worked great.

Be sure to read the fine print before buying this item. It is overpriced, and it can't be returned, and they provide no logical reason why it can't be returned. It doesn't have any batteries, it doesn't contain refrigerant, it simply a park to a refrigerator. Buying it from Uline directly would have been cheaper, and it would have also been returnable. It was my fault, as I needed it quickly, however it didn't arrive in time so wasted purchase

30 min to install. On a 1-5 scale of DIY difficulty, I would rate this a 2. Exact replacement for my old ULine unit. I was not expecting that I would need to remove the panel on the back of the ice maker, but it was no problem.

I replaced our ice maker unit about one year ago. The Teflon from the ice maker tray is flaking off into the ice.This is the only issue. The unit makes great ice and has worked perfectly continuously on our boat. Called Uline service they are aware some aftermarket units do this.

Works perfectly. Good directions. New screws and the thermal paste was included. I had to wire my directly and could not use the plug on the end, nonetheless it works perfectly and I am very happy! Delivery was right on time and well packaged.

Not sure why I paid as much as I did since it looks like a complete knock-off which are available for 1/6th the price elsewhere. Nothing on it indicates that U-line had anything to do with manufacture. It does work well and installed easily if not quickly. Ice is now dry and doesn't have 'flakes' of paint it them anymore.
