A helpful addition to learning Japanese
This book is great as an additional supplement for learning Japanese. Its nice to have pages which arent completely rammed with words so you can easily digest whats in front of you 1 page at a time. A broad range of everyday topics/subjects are covered in the book, with a good list of words to learn from. The book contains examples of katakana, hiragana and kanji. Quizes are found throughout the book to test your knowledge. Lastly the pictures are what youd expect from any other colouring book and theres lots of hours to be spent filling them in. Overall, its a good reference book for anyone learning Japanese.

An Innovative Approach To Learning Japanese
When I first saw this book, what attracted me to it was the idea that colouring in pictures relating to a word or phrase was a great way of learning by repetition. And so it has turned out to be. I’m useless as an artist but the colouring is one way of utilising both visual and dexterous learning methods.この本はとてもいいです。この本を買ってください!

A cute and helpful book…
Even if you don’t necessarily like colouring in, this cute book is still a great way to learn and remember quite a large amount of words and vocabulary. Mostly if not all in hiragana without the added difficulty of kanji, there are quizzes at the end of each section to test yourself. A handy addition to anyone learning Japanese and who wants to keep it interesting instead of going through the same old textbooks.

Different way to learn vocabulary
I am a beginner and have found this book extremely useful to learn new vocabulary in a structured way. The word lists are split by topic, so you can learn 5-10 words per day and then do the colouring if you wish, to make the monotony of vocab learning more enjoyable... Once I had studied the words, I went back to the start to try and memorise the Kanji as well.

A clever mix of simple and complex information
I liked the way access to the material can be made on different levels depending on the student’s ability - there is romaji underneath kana script as well as furigana above kanji to aid pronunciation. The introduction to Japanese grammar is also simple but thoughtful and allows for further research. Finally the printer has produced a beautiful and sturdy book which will encourage and withstand continued use.
