I'm an older man who has not previously explored this realm; I read that there are 4 basic levels of fragrance, graded by concentration; this sample pack allows you to try several without overspending; each small vial amounts to a few bucks per unit, and can inform later purchases, which can be quite expensive; if you are already familiar with this stuff, this kit probably holds little value; but if you are new to fragrances this is an inexpensive and fun way to experiment; 8 vials gives you a full week plus of dabbling, and plenty of opportunity to go back for more on the ones you like; BTW, the cylinders fit nicely into small cigar tins that are handy for travel; my one complaint is that not every fragrance comes with a good description card; would be nice for comparison purposes

For the most part I got this to try and few fragrance that I thought were interesting, Hero by Burberry and ToyBoy. However when I got them there was just a lot of mixed ones. Some on the list and some not. Other than that was great.

I feel lied to. I am fully aware that the listing states that the samples sent will vary depending on trends and availability but I was shocked to see that only ONE of the colognes in the photo showed up. I expected a few wouldn’t be included but 11/12 were different.The colognes that did show up were 25 year old staples such as CK One and Cool Water.I bought this sampler to try some more modern fragrances but I was left with samples of cologne I had in middle school and high school and I’m in my fifties now!Another major dissapointment was that I chose the most expensive option specifically because they should have been 0.05ml pump sprayers with “50 sprays each”. I only received a few pump sprayers and the rest were the type you just pop off a lid and put a few drops in your palm. I paid MORE so that I didn’t need to do that and the majority of them are not pump sprayers and several of them are smaller than the 0.05ml that I paid extra for.I did give 2 stars because I do have 12 samples to try and some of them ARE scents I’ve never tried but I feel like this is a very misleading listing and I’m leaving this review for others to temper their expectations on what will actually show up.NOTE: These are just the free sample vials you can get for free if you go to a retailer of fine colognes such as Macy’s, Dillards, etc… just be aware.

Being a total beginner to the fragrance world, having a random bag grab of samples seems quite the obvious choice to really tell which cologne really fits me. It’s great to be able to not only smell it on paper, but wear it out and see how the fragrance reacts to your skin, how it dries down, etc. Most of the fragrances are really great, they’re mostly a 50/50 of best sellers and some luxury lesser known picks. They’re not at all filler or super cheap or fake colognes. However, a lot of them seem to be samples of colored plastic bottles, while not the sellers fault, it’s not very obvious whether or not the bottles are full or empty. Unfortunately for me, 2 of my bottles were entirely empty. Giving the seller the benefit of the doubt — perhaps they were broken in transit or empty from factory. Another slight complaint is there were 2-3 pairs of fragrances that were nearly the same (edp/edt) — while I know some fragrance makers have strong variations between each, it’s kind of more appealing to see a wider range of brands and fragrances.
