I had an old unit (7-8 years old) that worked much better. I am in the middle of a move and have misplaced my Kreg jig that I always use. This was a quick purchase that I disliked from the first use. Don't get me wrong, it did the job and did it well. It is just that my older Kreg jig did it better. I build cabinets regularly. In my opinion a Kreg jig is the best tool to build cabinet face frames. It is easy to use, places pocket hole screws accurately and is well worth the $$$. This unit seems to have been built to be used in other applications too. The add on tailpieces are not rigid. They flex too much and are harder to get to stay in place than older versions. They are a great tool and unmatched by other brands I have tried. I will probably give this one to a friend when I find my old one. It had an attached clamp that made it easy to manipulate. This one does not. The clamp is separate and has to be manipulated with two hands. It guides the drill to the same strong, accurate placement of the screws but still seems cludgy. It appears that the older unit is out of production at this time. So if you need to place pocket hole screws for cabinets and ??? this one will do the job and in reality do it well.

I wish I had purchased this years ago. It works exactly as described and after watching a quick video to explain how it works I was off and running. This is a great way to join pieces of wood together for your next project.

I don't drill a ton of pocket holes so I bought this jig because it is Kreg and they are really good at this. This jig does everything you need and want it to do. It is easy to use and Kreg makes sure you have all the information you need to be drilling in no time. This package included the clamp which made things easier and less expensive. You will need a clamp (either this one or another that will work with this jig.While I love this jig, if I had to do it all over again I would have bought the Kreg jig with the built in clamping system and the dust extraction. It is easy but it does take some time to mess around with this model to clamp it in place; and if you're drilling lots of pocket holes it gets annoying.So light duty, this is your jig; more than light duty, step it up to the jig with more bells and whistles.

Works awesome and easy to use. Makes super tight joints with professional results. Skip the clamp, difficult to use and the spring popped off first use. Just use a regular bar clamp and save yourself some time and money. Included screws are a nice touch but you will go through them fast. Buy on line in advance 3x the price at big box stores.
