Great fun for kids! Beautiful geodes!
My 7 year old granddaughter was thrilled with the geodes. We had her use googles with a face shield and a big hammer. It took several good hits before they cracked open. Lots of crystal formations in both.

Fantastic Customer Service
We received our Jumbo Geode set with one of the geodes being solid. It definitely did look like a normal geode so I contacted the company and within an hour i received a reply stating they were sending a replacement. We have received the replacement already! The actual geodes themselves are great also. Very large and full of crystals!

Lots of fun
This was purchased for a gift. The kids loved them. We used a screwdriver and hammer to bust them open. They look great inside. The only downside was that they broke in several pieces. I wonder if they can score them so they break in a more uniform pattern.

1 solid rock, 1 cool geode
I have 2 kids studying rock formation at school, and they came home asking for Geodes to break open like their teacher did in school. I bought this and gave each 1 and told them to go for it. 1 broke open and was what we expected. The other took my husband banging on it with a hammer for a while to get it to break at all, and it is completely solid inside. So now I've got 1 happy kid and 1 disappointed kid.

Intrigued by them
My grandchildren were most interested in them among all their Christmas gifts. I purchased the 2 large geodes for my twin grandchildren a boy and a girl age 12.

Very good quality, very good customer support
We bought 1 box of two large (hardball size) geodes. One had excellent quartz crystals inside. The other was solid. The company promises to replace geodes that are solid, so we sent a photo of the solid one and asked for a replacement. We expected to get only one geode back, but the company promptly sent a box of two. Both of those were good, one with quartz crystals and one with another mineral that we believe is calcite. We used a masonry blade on an angle grinder to open the geodes. We clamped the angle grinder in a hand screw and clamped that in a bench vise. We put some wood blocks under the blade to support the geodes while we cut them open. That worked very well. Much better than smashing them to smithereens with a hammer or even trying to use a chisel to open them. An alternative method would be to hold the geode in a clamp or vise and make a series of cuts around it with the angle grinder. That would be slower than our method because it would require continually releasing the clamp or vise, turning the geode, re-clamping, and then making another cut. You don't want to cut all the way through if you can avoid it because often (two out of the three we opened) the crystals inside stick well into the cavity and would be cut off if the blade went deeper into the geode than the thickness of the shell.

Hard as a ROCK!! Disappointed.
These were impossible to break. I didn’t even know it was possible they could be solid. My 2 kids and I spent forever trying to break these open, damaging tools, making a crazy mess. Had to wait for my iron working husband to come home to smash them with a hammer which took 10 or so good blows while sharp pieces of rock were flying everywhere. Kids couldn’t be near it to experience it. Then when they did break open they were solid and looked like any other white rock in their minds. Such a waste. If you sell a product like this for so much money, I expect a real geode. If you advertise as a kids product, make sure a kid can actually do it. They were so disappointed they couldn’t be the ones to break them. Took all the fun out of it. Then to have them open and look like a regular white rock. No thanks. Wasn’t going to share a picture since they weren’t worth it. But noticed a white rock my daughter collected so had to show a comparison. 2 in the back are the “geode” from this pack. The 1 in the front is a random rock she found outside.
