Worked about 5 minutes
Plugged in the battery it worked right for the first 5-10 minutes, now when I turn it on it just keeps going to the buzzing noise can’t get to stop until I take out the battery! Sorry to say but it’s not working right! Would not recommend it to anyone !

Powerful
This metal detector is very strong. The noise is alarming if you are carrying metal. It detects extremely well. I am glad it has a vibration mode.

Cheap - Doesnt work
Doesn't work right out of the box. Just beeps randomly, doesn't detect metal. Unfortunately this is a product where you get what you pay for. Just spend the $100+ on the Garret.

Effective
The media could not be loaded. I bought this hoping that it would be helpful when we are using our larger metal detector on the beach searching for treasures. It’s larger than I need for this purpose, but it does seem to work. In the video I posted, I have it on the vibrate mode, as the alarm was too piercing for my liking. I wish that there was a sound control feature. I did find it was a little confusing to set up, as the device did not come with any instructions at all, and when I tried to look up the online manual, this model NG-D 180 was not there. Also, I thought it was on the expensive side. I’ll use it, but will look to replace it with a smaller detector that has volume control.

Compact Unit
Received this and was at first taken back by the size. It didn’t come close to the size of ones I’ve been scanned with at the airport. But, the size is not really what matters to me. You see, I ordered this to help security at a place I work at. I was more concerned whether it would do the job it was designed for well. So, pulled it out, installed battery, plugged in to charge. Simple instructions.Once charged I began my tests. It definitely works. Very audible sound once you’ve waved the wand over something with metal in it. The light bar on it gets lengthier too the closer you scan over a metal item. It’s plastic, so not sure how long it would last in the hands of someone that was either clumsy or destructive. But used as designed and not abused I could see this being another useful tool in the hands of a security minded individual.

Basically a security wand like they use in courthouses
I kind-of feel like the description was a little misleading. For starters, it only goes off for certain, random metals. As in testing it on about 6 different types I believe it went off twice, even if hovering it right over objects. Of course it does say in the instructions that you have to be "waving" it continuously moving for it to work so picture going into a courthouse or hospital and them quickly gliding it over the length of your body to basically check for weapons. It is simple to use as it has basically no settings or adjustments. It's on or not and you can have it beep or silence the sound. Not only can you not use it for anything other than a basic security wand, but I wouldn't feel confident in relying on it for safety as it doesn't pick up different types of metals. I'd say it's maybe best for a novelty/ play item for kids and its cost should provide features or confidence to its users at the least so wouldn't even say it's a good value. It is lightweight and seems like the battery is good
