Cisco SG500-52-K9-NA 52 Port Gigabit Managed Stackable Switch

Bought 2 as an upgrade (Dell PC 10/100 to 10/100/1000) for a small/med. business. Stacked them using a 4GB GBIC 1M cable. Also added 2-1GBGBICs for dual fiber links to remote location. This left 96 ports for the SMB.Set the servers here for teamed/bound dual nics so 2GB/server bandwidth.Set LAG for each server and allowed jumbo frames. Cut backup times in half for all servers to NAS freeing up 10-12 hours total for weekend full local and offsite BUs. Just what was needed. Also a developer indicated that scripted tasks are running in 1 half to 2 thirds the original time before upgrading to these switches.Note these servers have 1GB ports so verify you have the cabling to benefit. I was good in the building but not in the patch bays (CAT 5). So add'l cost incurred for Cat 6 patch cabling as well as CAT 6 at the desktops.Switches burned in 48hrs and now running great in their 3rd week. They have the lifetime Cisco warranties. (1yr Tech support).

Cisco refuses to warranty these switches serial numbers are bad.

Bought two of these for a small business implementation switching iSCSI traffic for a SAN. The switch works great and has all the features needed for a small business. Be carefull to follow the proper firmware upgrade instructions. The boot loader may have to be updated when updating the firmware. Once the boot loader is updated you can't go back.

unit is fantastic. firmware upgrade is easy, durabilty is great, POE never fails. QOS works flawlessly.10 out of 10.

Couldn't be happier with this switch, I've purchased several of them for my clients over the past couple of years.

Very Pleased with this switch, This is a very good Alternative if a Cisco Catalyst switch is not needed in a deployment.
