Bought this sprayer because I was tired of the wastefulness of going through cans of Pam. I've tried using a generic plastic sprayer (the kind you get at the drug store), but that resulted in too fine a mist and got oil where I didn't want it. With this sprayer I had the same problem several other reviewers reported, where the oil comes out in a jet or stream and not a spray or mist. Almost returned this item, but was sent a follow-up email from the seller asking that I direct any concerns to them and they would reply. They did write back, and included instructions on how to use the product as follows:"Thanks for your letter,The bottle add food oil in the oil bottle and spray out the thin columnar shape.How to Use:Pump the spray ten or more times until it is firm.Pump the cap until resistance is felt, then spray into the sink.Spray at a maximum angle of 45 degreesdetergent.Extra cleaning brush is good plus.Please Note:If the spray strength weakens, re-pumping the cap is necessary.Fill the bottle only half full with oil to allow space for pressure.To clean, fill bottle with hot tap water and add one drop of liquid detergent,then spray into the sink.To rinse, repeat the sequence using fresh hot water. Bonus clean brush is included for thorough cleaning of residue inside sprayer."As others have said, there are no instructions that come with the item, so I wish the part about only filling the bottle halfway could have been made known to me sooner. Still not totally sure I'm going to keep this one, but I'll give it an honest try. On the plus side, the cleaning brushes which come with it are well-constructed (e.g. the wire is twisted back over the end of the bristles, instead of just ending in an exposed cut wire which then scratches surfaces as I've had some brushes do). The tiny metal funnel is also adorable and does help when filling the sprayer. So I'm reluctant to give up those extras if I were to return the sprayer...

After opening this, tossing the box, filling it with olive oil, and using it a couple of times, I have no idea why this product is getting 5 stars from other reviewers. It sprays out a jet of olive oil, which to me defeats the purpose of a sprayer. I might as well just pour olive oil into or onto whatever I'm making and spreading it around with a paper towel. I was hoping it would actually SPRAY, like other vegetable sprays, so that I could get a fine coating on whatever I'm making. Anyway, based on the seller's guarantee, we are returning this item even though we opened and used it. I'll be looking around for another spray bottle that works the way I expected.

Note: This may be a case where Amazon can't distinguish between a genuine and knock-off product and sells both from different sellers under the same product page. If that's the case, I certainly ended up with the knock-off.Another reviewer mentioned getting instructions from the manufacturer to only fill the bottle half-way to allow enough air for pressure. It's not that kind of sprayer. It's a simple pump action squirt, like with bathroom soap. It generally only fires in a stream. You can get it to mist, but it takes about 4 seconds per spray to set up and you have to depress it very hard or you still get a stream.It broke somewhat when a friend dropped it on my linoleum floor (so much for the metal case), and then when I tried to screw it shut after setting it right, the interior plastic case just snapped. Frankly, I was relieved, because that meant I wouldn't feel bad about not using it any more. I got some use out of the metal case for a project, so that's nice.

Purchased this item as a gift to my girlfriend back in February and she just recently opened and filled it up. Design is nice but it comes with little to no instructions. In addition to that more importantly it didn't work. It leaks and doesn't squirt well at all. Your hand is immediately cover in oil the moment you press the pump button and I cannot tell you why. I understand for the price you get what you pay for but for a simple task I feel like it should work properly at least once. I read the reviews before purchasing and most were positive so I went ahead and bought it. I understand I am outside of the return or swap window.

THIS PRODUCT STINKS.....at first use it sprayed fine,had no use for it so put it away....about a month ago decided to use it instead of those horrible can spray alternatives...I FILLED IT with AN EXPENSIVE OLIVE OIL (which overpoured cause there is absolutely no way to tell when it is full)...still it worked fine...STORED IN THE REFRIGERATOR until I decided to spritz my pan with premium olive oil in stead of the cheap canned stuff to my surprise that great fine spray had now become a blob of oil and no matter how I sprayed it came out in a stream not a spray..IT was pathetic a patch of oil here a patch of oil there...LOOKED ALL over the internet figuring I was doing something wrong but there was nothing to help...$15.00 for a piece of CRAP.....nice AMAZON!

Completely useless for spraying olive oil, it just dribbles down the front when you can get it to even do that.The refillable bottle is black plastic, and has a stainless outer cover but is not removable. Whether or not this plastic is "food grade" is questionable.The tiny funnel and bottle cleaners are the most useful and usable items.

I loved it and used it quite often. Then the spayer did not function properly, and it was because the plastic screw on portion of the bottle started to tear. I had to throw it away. Will advise the seller to see if this is a frequent issue.

I’m really sad. I looked long and hard before choosing this, but when you push the button a little blob comes out. Nothing like a spray. Then you have to push the button over and over again to get anything... but I end up just using my normal bottle of oil and pouring it because it’s much easier.
