I really love these LED lights! I've purchased 2 boxes of 2X and one box of 99ft, and all work and look great! The coated wire in which the LEDs are imbedded is very tough and flexible, so I've been able to use the lights in a bundle around candles and on wall baskets, as well as strung along banisters. It's great that they plug into a normal wall outlet (with a long enough power cord that I don't have to see the string lighting the way to the outlet), and I don't have to worry about running down batteries.The dimmer function on the remote is so nice! The remote also provides several modes of blinking and brightness, so these are perfect for quite a few holiday applications. However, they're so elegant that I plan to use them (in the dimmed mode) throughout the year.

At first I suspected the weather proof but this one has survived like 10 thunderstorms/rain and still works perfectly. The string is flimsy by design but it just means that you need to be a little more careful while handling it. I actually had to remove it after a month for pressure washing of my deck and put it back again and since then three thunderstorms have passed. I would strongly recommend to connect and test it straight out of the box and i kept it connected and glowing while installing it around my Deck railings just so that I know the point of failure if there is an issue while installing it. The remote works better while in line of sight obviously. We love the warm light and dimness jumps by 10% from 10 to 100. We keep it in 50% which is bright enough but not glary- everyone in my area has asked about it in the last two months ever since i installed it. I am planning to keep it till December and remove it just before snow starts. I would recommend to keep the original packaging to roll it when not used or when stored as otherwise you may quickly entangle it badly that it forms knots and you may snap the delicate strings when you try to unknot it. I leave the wiring and adaptor outdoor inside a closed plastic box as the adaptor is not water proof but i do not want to unplug for each rain. Very good product for the money, just handle it with care and attention.

Initially, I thought 99 feet of lights were going to be a challenge to put on the tree, but it was super easy. Very beautiful, and you can control the brightness as well. It took me a while to figure out where to put the controller so that the remote was easier to use. Very complementary to the led candles that we also put on the tree. Btw, using them was an afterthought, so I put them on the tree AFTER it was decorated. Still super easy. You need these!

I'm changing my review because I figured out what was wrong. When I first got these and put them on the mini bar (which is close to the TV), I was all set to return them because for seemingly no apparent reason, they would spontaneously start flashing even though I had them set to stay on in steady mode, dimmed to 20. But I solved the problem and now I adore them.First thing - don't plug these into a strip or extension cord that is sharing a charge with other items. Apparently, they are sensitive to electrical flow. So they need their own private outlet - that's number one. Secondly, it turns out that some television remote controls use the same frequency as the remote for these lights. That oh-so annoying spontaneous flashing was happening when I used my TV remote! Just took me a day or two to figure it out.So by all means, buy these. They're lovely and the dimmer options really make them special. But just know that if you're using another remote nearby, you'll have to reset the fairy lights after you finish clicking. This product works as advertised; however, it does have a few issues that are not surprising for the price.First the good things. The lights are fairly bright and the remote is handy. The strobe and dimming features aren't very useful, but the adjustable brightness is super convenient. The issue with the dimming/strobing is that the entire string turns off completely, so if it is your only light source, it goes pitch black. A more of a pulsing feature where it goes from set brightness to around 10% would be welcome. Alternatively, not all of the lights dimming would also be neat, but is not feasible due to the design.The primary issue stems from the remote. Even when pointing directly at the sensor, it doesn't reliably work over 15 feet away. This is annoying because I installed the IR sensor at the top corner of my patio shade and some of my seating is over 15 feet away, so it only works sporadically from those locations.I have it supported on 550 cord to reduce strain, so we will see how long it lasts. So far it has survived one Oklahoma storm with strong winds.Besides the remote transmitter being a little under powered and the majority of the settings being pointless (in my opinion), it is a solid buy.----------1 year update: These lights are way more durable than I expected. They've survived through multiple storms, ice, negative °F temperatures, and constant wind... Everything Oklahoma had to throw at them over the crazy last year and they still work like new.

As the title says, the remote doesn't work at all. Neither battery worked that came with it, and yes the plastic tab was pulled out. I'm not sure if the lights are at full brightness or not since I can't adjust the dimming in the wired box. Wish I could give the product a better review since they are a great decoration, but given it was purchased with remote use in mind, it's quite disappointing. It would be nice if they had a much slower twinkle setting too. Would make for a better mood setting at a wedding, etc. Right now most settings are very aggressive and can't be used during a reception at a wedding, etc. If these lights are at full brightness they are very dim, just keep that in mind before purchasing. They will not provide enough light to allow a guests to eat dinner at a table if they were say 7 feet off the table.

We added these fairly lights to run between our larger light strings and it just makes it very magical. Would recommend.

So far so good. They are beautiful and I can use them in many different situations. Reason for 4 stars is that unfortunately one can never tell how long they last. I have strands that are years old and others that stopped working after a couple of months.
