Product Description Double vinyl LP pressing. Original soundtrack to the 2014 motion picture composed by Hanz Zimmer. Interstellar pairs the creative forces of Zimmer and esteemed director Christopher Nolan, who collaborated previously on The Dark Knight film trilogy and Inception. "Chris wanted us to push the limits," offers Zimmer. "Every conversation was about pushing boundaries and exploring new territories. This movie virtually dictates that you put everything on the line and keep the laboratory doors wide open and experiment to the very end. It tested our limits: the limits of what musicians are capable of, the limits of what could be recorded, the limits of everyone's stamina, commitment and invention, and I think we got it." About the Artist The movie hit of 2014, Interstellar, chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage. While the film is directed by acclaimed Christopher Nolan (Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight…), the epic soundtrack score was composed by Nolan's longtime collaborator, Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer. Zimmer and Nolan planned to move away from the Batman Trilogy's scores and to come up with a unique one. Before (re)writing a word of Interstellar, Nolan did something he had never done before, something that speaks to his desire for more emotionally potent work. He asked composer Hans Zimmer to write some music for the film, but without telling him about the genre, title, characters, or plot: 'I said, 'I am going to give you an envelope with a letter in it. One page. It's going to tell you the fable at the center of the story. You work for one day, then play me what you have written'. He was up for it. And it was perfect. He gave me the heart of the movie'. Zimmer says he remembers this idea from Nolan's letter: 'Once we become parents, we can't help but look at ourselves through the eyes of our children'. Zimmer conducted 45 scoring sessions for Interstellar, which was three times more than for Inception. Interstellar's score has been nominated for the 2015 Oscars, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globes and the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Review: I have to say I absolutely love the sound track to the film Interstellar - I have to say I absolutely love the sound track to the film Interstellar. I normally listen to it via Spotify, but I also have a love for Vinyl so all the albums I really like I buy on vinyl. So this is no different for me, it is a lovely gatefold duel LP it feels very high quality and also has an interesting insert which talks about the making of the OST. The only shame really is it has 1 of 3 of my favourite tracks from the CD/Spotify version, I think Mountains, Coward & Detach are the cream of the crop, but it also has others which are not included in the digital versions. *Edit I tell a lie, they just have different names 1) Dreaming of the crash 2) Cornfield Chase 3) Dust 4) Day one 5) Message from home 6) Stay 7) The Wormhole 8) Afraid of time 9) A place among the stars 10) No time for caution 11) Murph 12) Detach 13) Running out 14) Tick Tock 15) Where we're going 16) Do not go gentle into that good night Review: A masterclass in film music - One of Hans Zimmers finest OST’s. From the subtle opening track to some of the finest organ work outside traditional classical repertoire. The music gives the film its emotional depth and is more than a match for the vast and expansive subject matter of the film.

Incredible soundtrack with fantastic artwork - 10/10
For me, Interstellar is one of those movies that just does everything for me. I love the cast, the characters, the setting but most of all - the soundtrack. This soundtrack came as a two disc vinyl. The cover art on the outside is off Endurance entering the anomaly, the cover art on the rear is off the cooper house. What the photos fail to show is the inner 2 page art work which gave me the chills looking at it. Opening up the vinyl treats you to a double page art work of the space crafts landing at Millars planet in the water - beautiful. The vinyl cover sleeve has a lovely gloss finish and comes with some pages of information about the behind the scenes and about the music and instruments used - a very interesting read. The sound quality from the vinyl is noticeably better than that of CD and digital. Just set the record on your turntable, sit back, and let the music take you. 10/10

Hans Zimmer at his very best!
Hans Zimmer seems to be the man to go to these days for blockbuster films from the mind of Christopher Nolan, & Interstellar has plenty of the Zimmer trademarks he is known for. Wonderful atmospheric & powerful, this score evokes the huge scale of the film & vast emptiness of space & while not quite as dramatic & dark as 'Inception' it still serves to compliment the film perfectly. The church organ section using the organ in Temple church London is haunting & draws the listener deep into the film, in some ways this passage reminds me of Mike Oldfields 'Tubular Bells'. The vinyl package is especially good, gatefold sleeve with a wonderful full width colour still from the movie inside & a colour booklet about the score writing process & production. It is also I think good value being a double disc & cut to 180grams so it has that gorgeous heavyweight full depth sound quality so evident in 180gram pressings today. For the serious score collector this is an absolute 'must have'

Stunning...
Absolutely stunning soundtrack, epic scale-just the thing to give your hifi a good workout! This is one of the best albums I have ever bought, it is truly spine tingling! Sounds amazing on 180g vinyl, warm but richly detailed and powerful-a 'velvet hammer', if you like!

Exceptional score album
This is an exceptional score by Hans Zimmer. I am sure that it will come to be regarded as a classic, much like the film itself.

This record is unreal, and super satisfying. The only heads up isn’t the sellers fault, it’s the recording itself. Everything on this record sounds great, but if you think you can’t hear it, WAIT, don’t turn it up. There are cinematic parts that are quiet, and if too loud too ok behind with, can overload your speakers.
