Solid Weather Station, But Expensive
Why did you choose this product over others?: Although it’s a basic weather station, it offers plenty of measurements that seem accurate, and you can link it to online services to share your readings with others. Setup was straightforward and everything worked right away. I’ve had it for quite a while now and haven’t needed to change the battery in the outdoor module yet, which is impressive. The only area for improvement is the app — it hasn’t been updated in a long time and looks quite dated, though the desktop dashboard is much nicer. Overall, I still feel it’s a bit pricey for what it does.

Great starting weather system
A great weather device for those of you that want to monitor your local surroundings in doors and out. I have added the rain meter and an extra sensor too. Given the price I like the system, however I do feel that the web app could be better or more feature rich. Getting out of the box and setting up is very easy indeed, if you have other apps it's great to see your device listed in such apps as Meteo Weather Pro. The great benefit of not having to configure port forwarding to see results not he net is superb too. It really is a plug and play system gives good results for any budding weather enthusiast. You can even take it a step further and publish instant notifications via push alerts using the If This Then That IFTTT service as the Netatmo Weather is part of the service. I did buy the system when it was on offer and although awaiting the wind sensor can say that given the full price of any / all of the kit I would only buy it on the offer price. I do have another system from a german company that is a data logger too and records to the minute intervals. Both systems do suffer the inaccuracy of calibration. The box states what resolution and so forth but when you set it all up and leave them inside you'd expect to see almost identical figures for humidity and temperature across all devices. This aside it's good enough for a starting kit. One real negative is the strap for the outdoor module. The strap will secure to many objects, however the sensor merely slots onto the strap and could easily be knocked off - this would be bad given the price of the individual sensors. The company have definately gone down the route of making the packing and the items very high end Apple looking. Should you buy the rain meter you'll need a good mount too. It does easily blow off given the strong winds we've had.

Unreliable, inaccurate, faulty design. Looks good at first but it's not up to the job.
EDIT 21/12/2021: Reduced to one star. We've had three storms so far this year and the Netatmo has let me down every time. The rain gauge has stopped working completely. The outdoor module has been on 100% for over a month and temperature indications are completely wrong. I only installed it 3 months ago. And the reliability of the website is worse than ever. I shopped around a lot when looking for a weather station. I wanted something that collected serious, accurate data to enable me to study the local climate and also to work with my smart home (turn sprinkler on/off when it's dry/raining etc.). Not many fulfil both these objectives and on paper it came down to a choice between the Netatmo and Ambient Weather ws-2902. Since the latter turned out to be difficult to get hold of where I live I went with the Netatmo. Unfortunately after 2 months of struggling on with it I cannot recommend this weather station. The outdoor module is simply inaccurate. I'd already read about other users having problems with water ingress so I made a point of installing it under an overhang so it wouldn't get wet. As far as I know it has never seen a drop of rain. Despite this the humidity reading has been stuck on 100% for most of the time. I've brought it in, taken it apart and found it to be wet inside. I have dried it out, checked the reading (70%), put it back outside and within hours it's back to 100%. There is a clearly a design fault. As soon as it's exposed to high humidity (e.g. fog) the reading never reduces. The humidity issue seems to affect the temperature readings dramatically. My station was reading -3 when all the other stations on Wundermap in the local area were well above zero and there was no frost. Clearly completely wrong. The rain gauge has always had a tendency to underread but the bigger issue is that occasionally it stops working completely. Today it rained for 8 hours non-stop and according to my rain gauge the total was 2.1mm. Every other rain gauge in the region was reading 11-20mm. And now it stopped raining 4 hour ago but according to my rain gauge it's still raining. So completely wrong. Moving on to the user interface, which is web based.... it's only accessible through the internet. So if the Netatmo server is down (which seems to be quite regularly at the moment) or you have no internet access it's impossible to see the readings. So you can be sitting 3 feet away from the thing but unable to get readings off of it. Infuriating. The interface has very limited scope for data analysis. You cannot view indoor and outdoor temperatures on the same chart for example. And the timescales are fixed to day/week/month so you cannot see how much rain fell since 12 o'clock yesterday for example. The scales on the charts adjust automatically making it difficult to make comparisons and it uses nonsensical major gridlines - I'm looking at my rain gauge chart at the moment and the major gridlines are 0.2 / 0.5 / 0.8 / 1.0, so differing intervals, but the actual gaps between the lines on the chart are the same so it's impossible to read the bars on the chart accurately. As you zoom out of a chart it starts hiding data points and you lose detail - to the point where you just get long straight lines and you cannot see big changes in data. It is possible to download the data in Excel or csv format to analyse it in more detail and at first it looks good. You get more data points than the web interface typically shows and you have control of the scales etc. But if you look more closely you start to realise that the recording interval varies considerably. Sometimes every four minutes, sometimes every five minutes and sometimes there are great big gaps in data but it doesn't record a zero or blank it just records the next data point. So you might see rows of times like this: 0905 / 0910 / 0914 / 1044 / 1149 / 1155 / 1159. Worse than this, each module records on its own interval so whilst the indoor module is recording 0905 / 0910 / 0914 your outdoor module is recording 0858 / 0902 / 0906. This causes all sorts of problems when you try to plot the data on a chart. I knew there was no UV sensor when I bought the Netatmo - it's one of the major features it lacks compared to the Ambient Weather, but I didn't expect to miss it as much as I do. For smart home automation it means being unable to do things like increase watering when it's been a sunny day. That's quite a comprehensive list of what's wrong with it. Things I do like are the range of the wireless signals on the outdoor/rain modules. Much better than any wireless weather station I've had before. The integration with IFTT is seamless and very straightforward. I didn't think I needed an indoor CO2 sensor but it has been quite an eye opener. I now open a window when it goes above 1000ppm and I'm convinced I am all the better for it. And I like the Netatmo weathermap which allows you to see readings from other stations (though I think that is freely accessible so I could have had that without spending £150). All in all I cannot recommend Netatmo weather stations. It's not reliable enough and not accurate enough and if you are serious about being able to study weather data you will be disappointed.

Wonderful little devices that are a godsend when they work as intended.
Intially I was torn between 4 and 5 stars for this unit because they aren't perfect and have some issues here and there. However, the people behind netatmo are constantly looking to improve their devices and actively update them on a regular basis. Setting up this additonal module is so very easy, you just connect to your webpage, browse the settings and click add new module. Give it a name and you are done! Cons Sometimes disconnect for no reason and require resetting Some readings slightly off on the sensors Pros These things work over a great distance. I have one in an enclosed wine cellar that has no windows and yet it still manages to talk to the main unit at the opposite end of the house without issue. Netatmo support are very helpful and will reset/callibrate all of your sensors to match. The temperature reading on my units is absolutely spot on matching my mercury old school thermometer perfectly. The humidity sensor is also much more accurate than the ones in my previously purchased sensors. Overall, I am loving my Netatmo sensors that allow me to keep an eye on my wine cellar no matter where I am in the world.

Avoid at all cost. This device has massive issues if there is a dual 5ghz and 2ghz network active. Many Irish routers (eg eir) arent able to change that (its seriously ancient stuff) so it won’t work in Ireland on around 50-60% of households. Don’t roll the dice - go for a cheaper and better solution (literally anything else) Cheaping out on a 5ghz chip says everything about the company. Avoid - avoid - avoid

The unit looks as though it will provide more placement options for the outdoor module. It comes with multiple attachment accessories. Quality of manufacture is very good. I’ve attached it to a flag pole.
