5 month review: does the job; no issues!
I purchased this in Dec 21 to protect our new carpet in the study. So am reviewing after 5 months' use of 4+ days per week, on new medium pile carpet with a 5 wheel std office chair plus my 90-ish kg. Pleased to report it's doing the job intended. Carpet is fine; no signs of increased wear. Protector itself also looks good; no signs of any damage to it. Only slight niggle is that it does shift over the course of the day until it is up against one of the desk legs, so I tend to re-position it every week or so; but that's not strictly necessary as it works fine, it's just a little "off-centre". (Not sure if they all do that). Delivery was fine too - arrived on time and in OK condition. Overall, would recommend.

Very solid, but be wary of hard/sharp edges
I've been thru 2 fairly decent floormats over thin carpet which have both eventually split and failed. This as a replacement feels a lot more sturdy and superior. Unpacking it was fun. It came rolled up with all sorts of warning labels that it is packed under pressure, so be very careful when unpacking it. It will need 2 people to do that safely. Once unpacked we followed the instructions to flatten it out, and can say that this is properly solid and it does not slide or move under a heavy gaming chair, so I have high hopes for it. One thing to be wary of is to not sit on this barefoot. The plastic is hard which is great but the edges have not been rounded off so they can bite because theyre square/sharp. (This is the only reason I have given it 4-stars)

Sturdy desk chair mat
I contacted the seller on receipt of my mat as I was expecting it to arrive flat, but it came rolled up and I was concerned that it wouldn’t flatten fully on opening. They confirmed these are now sold machine-rolled but said due to it being made of polycarbonate, it would immediately flatten. I’ve just unrolled it and can say it is as flat as it should be. The instructions say to place heavy weights at each corner once unrolled to flatten the edges, but there was no need. But please do read the unrolling instructions carefully to protect yourself, it is rolled by a machine and is very taught, but as long as you follow the instructions, wear gloves and apply downward pressure when cutting the binds you can carefully unroll it slowly. I did add a couple of towels on top of the mat just in case it sprang backwards and might cut me but it was all fine - I managed it on my own. Not yet used it as the new carpet and chair are arriving at the weekend but the mat feels extremely sturdy so hopefully won’t be any issues. Photo taken as soon as it was unrolled.

Just perfect carpet protection
My partner and I have been using a pair of these for 10 months now and they are just great. Both of us work from home, so we're sitting at our desks all day, but there have been no cracking on the mats whatsoever and no damage to the deep pile carpeting underneath. And they look quite good too. But make sure your carpets are at least half a cm thick (or more) so the studs and the mat sit well. They slide on the carpet ever so slighly though (maybe a few millimeters a day) do I have to adjust them every couple of weeks, but that's it.

Quite possibly the worst (and most expensive) chair mat I've ever owned!
Honestly, I was quite shocked at how bad this chair mat was given the price! We have quite luxurious carpet, not extremely thick but nice enough that you'd want it protected. My last chair mat lasted about 5 years and was getting a bit tired so thought I'd treat myself... I was very wrong! The Floortex "Ultimat" lasted just over a year before it started cracking pretty badly, it looked like it was cracking across lines that may have been used in manufacturing process , but it didn't take long before my socks and feet were getting caught on the cracks.Pretty shocked given cheaper mats have lasted longer with the same carpet and chair!

Just what I needed for my office chair. Spikes could do with being a bit longer.
The media could not be loaded. I have a very deep pile carpet so needed something that would protect it and make moving my office chair around easier. Prior to this, I was using a spare bit of carpet on top of the existing carpet and while that protected the carpet underneath, moving the chair around was frustrating and the carpet kept bunching up. Anyway, I finally had enough and decided to go for this.It works amazingly well and is just what I needed. It arrived in a massive flat package and was a lot more sturdy than I was expecting. After placing it on the carpet I did notice it would move around if pulled on it. This is because the spikes are very long so don’t get the best grip. They could really do with making them longer.Anyway, I decided to add some rubber pads to my desk legs and placed the desk on the mat and pushed the mat up against the wall. With the desk on the mat I’m happy to report it stayed in place and wouldn’t move. I guess the weight of the desk helps the spikes get a good grip so I would recommend doing this if you can.I finally moved the office chair onto the mat and wow, the difference it makes is amazing. The chair glides around with ease and the mat feels very solid and secure. While this was a little expensive, it was so worth it and I would thoroughly recommend it. I only gave it 4 stars because the spikes could have done with being longer.

Totally lives up to the hype!
This is the second one of these I have bought to protect a very deep pile carpet from plastic wheeled office / gaming chairs in my kids’ rooms.Genuinely brilliant product that 100% does what it says. The polycarbonate has a slight flex across its whole size, but is otherwise very rigid and does not bend under the chair wheels - even with a good 80+ kilos bearing down on it.The carpet grip spikes on the underside prevent any slippage - even on a very deep pile carpet. The mat is transparent so you can easily see your carpet colour beneath. This one was delivered flat but my previous one was curled into a tube. Both methods seem fine, and there’s no residual curling or damage to either from transport. Delivery was rapid - 2 days early of the quoted max time just add a cherry on top!I tried to cheap out and get a thin plastic one of these a few years ago. I must say that whilst it might seem a lot of money for a floor mat, there is no comarison. The Floortex product and service is spot on.

Ultime
Je l'utilise depuis plus de deux ans pour ne pas abimer un tapis et il résiste très bien.Aucun signe d'usure, c'est vraiment du très bon matériel.
