A little cheap for my liking

They work but seem a little cheap on the construction.

Would be a 5 if the the enclosed hex head didn't break loose

Absolutely what you need when working with DC and building battery systems like LiFePo4 updates, adding new features to battery wiring closets, etc. All they would have needed to do to make these perfect is pour in a little more plastic because after taking a couple of them apart when the bolt started spinning around in the case, one can see that the bolt is held by a little arm of plastic about twice the size of a toothpick. So what happens is you get a big stack of terminals on this, wish to issue a final tightening on the nut and then it swings on around while the stack moves instead. So a total fail from that perspective but it still does it's job and simply because the right version of this thing doesn't seem to be on the market, meaning it's the only logical option in the absence of no alternative. Also I haven't overheated one of these but if the mfg. would use something like a Bakelite derivative like a Bussmann ANL fuse holder uses, then that would address this dangerously melt-able device when high amp DC is in the picture. Again the reason this gets a 3 from me and not less is because this one is the only choice I found. You can try to find one made out of Bakelite type material but I wasn't able to find anything. Let me know, anyone if they find one of these in a sturdy and melt-proof case.

Not 3/8 post

Needed these for a project I was doing. Ordered these as well as other parts for the project. Ran into a major problem though. After reading that they were 3/8 studs, I ordered cables that were 3/8 to match the fit. Unfortunately, these are larger than 3/8 and the cables that I ordered did not fit without some reworking of the cables. The studs are 10mm in size.Other than the size issue these are very nice quality items. Had they been the right size the install would have been very easy. So, if you are ordering these keep this in mind. I wonder if the 1/4 inch are really larger metric? Those might have worked for me here. In the end it all worked out. They are in service and working fine.

They work

Bought these as power supply posts for my HAM radio shack. I feed a 10.24kW lithium battery bank at 24 volts to a 24-12 step down DC-DC converter. That is connected to the bottom of these posts and then I have 2 VHF/UHF radios and a 100w HF radio as well as a spare (for testing) lead attached with crimp rings.Been in service for two months with no issues.I would buy them again.

Mounting holes are really small.

I regret having bought this but needed it to finish fixing a wiring problem. Main issues are the tiny mounting holes and not enough material to enlarge the holes and the stud is exposed from the two larger holes on each side of the stud. You can't use those holes for bolts to mount because there would be a chance of contacting the stud (not good to short positive to ground!).
