an impressive mic arm with lots of tension
I currently own 2 microphones, a blue Yeti and an XLR, which each comes with its own mic stand, but I wanted a mic arm to swing around and adjust the mic closer to me, so I opted to get the Mic Boom Arm from Bietrun. I had never owned a boom arm before, so I didn't really know what to look for, but after the specs for this mic arm, I was hooked. The mic arm is very sturdy and sleek looking with easy-to-read instructions and high-quality parts. One thing to mention is that don't make the mistake of setting the tension of the mic arm before adding the microphone first because the weight will adjust accordingly with the weight of the microphone. The setup was a snap and the mic arm is compatible with lots of microphones, from lightweight to heavier, and it does come with a metal extension tube to relieve the issue with the wire not connecting right due to a higher joint above the mic. Although, I suggest a heavier mic because it makes the mic arm less likely to move up from the tension. I started with a very lightweight microphone and the mic arm tension kept moving it; it was never stationary so I used a heavier XLR mic and that did the trick. I do like the look of the mic arm because it has a professional look and I like the fact that you can hide the wires discreetly inside the tube by using the added clips on the inside of the tube which keeps everything neat. As for the price, the mic arms on the market range from different prices, and compared to the Bietrun, the price is fair considering what you get.Overall, the Bietrun mic arm surpasses my expectations considering that I didn't know what to expect. It is well-constructed, looks nice, and is very functional as a mic arm. The setup was a breeze and the adjustment of the tension could use some work, but overall a very nice mic arm that is worth every penny. Recommended. A-

Bad Design? First One Didn’t Work, Replacement Didn’t Either
The media could not be loaded. This is my second attempt with this particular boom arm. The first one would not hold its position no matter how hard I tightened the positioning knob, or how much I adjusted the internal spring tension with the screw at the base of the arm as they suggest. Nothing worked. The arm would rise up slowly, almost like a hydraulic jack, no matter what I did.My partner who is very good at fixing just about everything tried everything he could think to try. His conclusion was, “it’s just defective.”When this replacement arrived, the first thing we did was test the positioning. Again, the arm would just spring back up into a straighter position. That’s why I’m posting a video of it. It will simply not hold the position you want.Initial impression was that it looked great, and appeared well designed and machined. It’s a heavy duty arm with added features to hold two microphones, and hide microphone cables. It’s nicely packaged. Everything about it says that it’s professional and it should work exceedingly well. But, unfortunately, these two didn’t.If it was just one that didn’t work, I would think it was a simple defect. Two in a row, I’m thinking bad design.

A quality product that keeps its promises.
The criteria for evaluating a purchase from Amazon is always an utmost standard of integrity. This begins with the seller truth-in-telling, the listing being a thorough and accurate representation of what is received and the manufacturing of the product meeting or exceeding good quality expectations. Interpreting this by assigning "stars" can be misleading. So I either recommend a product or I don't. The item I receive must be protectively shipped arriving in brand new condition, no damages or items being prior returns resold. The manufacturer's packaging should be substantial for handling and storing while intelligently presenting the item in full color photos with dialog expressing the features and benefits and overview of use to guide fair use expectations. Not just content thrown in non-descript generic bags or boxes. The product design should be intuitively clear regarding "how-to" and contain enough English-correct instructions to promise ease of use with all its features. We need to be happy we bought it, and not care whose responsibility it is for whatever failure destroys our shopping experience. I'm not in the mood to meter forgiveness because it was not the seller, it was Amazon, or not Amazon it was the manufacturer, or not the manufacturer it was delivery services. I don't want to manage and decipher the experience, I just want to enjoy it. It is a tall-order and why I only shop Amazon, because they promise to uphold this high-bar of customer satisfaction. This item hits this high mark. I can absolutely recommend it.

Tension screws don't tighten enough
This mic arm is sturdy, and I like the cable management feature to organize and hide the cables. So far I’ve been able to make this arm work for me because my mic is coming from above, but I would not be able to use it if I had to adjust the arm much, because the tension screws to hold it in place don’t hold it in place. You can’t screw it tight enough to hold the arm in a curled position. It just extends back out on its own. That is really a bummer, because otherwise this mic arm is awesome. But unless they fix the issue in later production, it would only be an awesome arm for someone who doesn’t need to use the tension screws.

It works well for my beyerdynamic PRO X M70
I am in no way a pro and don't have much room either. I don't have a need to move the mic so I can't say if this will last the test of time and movement, but so far it's been good. For the price I think is well built and does the job of holding my mic. What else do I need to know? There may be more professional or sturdier mic arms, but this works well for my needs.
