Not what I expected.

Sorry to say this is not at all what I thought it would be. Flavor off, all in all would never order again.

Delicious cocoa

From the moment I came across this cocoa, I was captivated by the idea of a healthier alternative to satisfy my chocolate cravings. The blend of chia oil, oats, omega 3, zinc, and essential vitamins truly intrigued me. It's like enjoying a comforting cup of cocoa while knowing that it's good for my well-being – a win-win situation!Preparing this cocoa is a breeze, and the instructions provided are straightforward. Mixing 2 tablespoons with a cup of your preferred beverage yields a satisfying cocoa flavor. I highly recommend following their recommendations for a well-balanced taste. I experimented by using regular milk, and it turned out to be quite enjoyable. While it may not compare to popular brand name cocoas, I appreciate the knowledge that I'm indulging in a guilt-free treat on rainy days. Now, here's a tip for fellow cocoa enthusiasts seeking an extra level of decadence – try substituting regular milk with healthy skim chocolate milk! The combination of this nutritious cocoa blend with the richness of chocolate milk is simply divine. I no longer feel guilty about indulging in a cup of cocoa, as it aligns with my desire to make healthier choices.

OMG I LOVE THIS! OMG I HATE THE PRICE!

Disclaimer: I did receive this item for free to try out. HOWEVER! All opinions are my own and I pride myself on unbiased reviews that can help others decide whether something is worth it.I was SUPER excited when I came across this to try! Meanwhile my husband is very much not a fan lol. I love hot chocolate/cocoa. I was VERY intrigued by the concept of a HEALTHY cocoa option! Chia oil, Oat, omega 3, zinc, and vitamins? I can enjoy my cocoa while knowing it’s good for me?! YES! You can make it either hot OR cold? Double YES!The directions were simple enough. 2 TBSP with a cup of beverage. I would suggest you go with their directions for a decent cocoa flavor. If you change their recommendations you don’t get to complain later about a lack of cocoa flavor lol. They made that suggestion for a reason. This is supposed to be healthy and good for you. For a fairly decent cocoa flavor you’ll want not 1 TBSP but the 2. They did say you can choose your beverage for mixing in. Hot water, cold water, milk? Don’t do something dumb like soda please lol. I tried with regular milk. Just note if you try doing it cold it’ll take a little bit longer with more stirring to get it all mixed up together VS using warm/hot liquids. It’s not that much longer though, only a couple minutes. With regular milk I still liked it. It’s definitely not brand name cocoa lol. But I’m totally okay with the flavor knowing that it’s healthy!!! I’m not just drinking empty calories like with actual cocoa I would make on our rainy days! Here’s a tip. Instead of regular milk, I also tried using chocolate milk and OMG YES LOL. So I specifically used a healthy skim chocolate milk that has less sugar and it’s healthy with calcium with other good stuff. So healthy chocolate milk with this healthy cocoa is key! :D I definitely don’t feel so guilty having cocoa now!BUT GUYS. THIS IS EXPENSIVE. At $25 I can’t even defend this price point. I understand eating healthy comes with a price but wow. So this is not for everyone. I personally don’t even know if I can justify getting this again with my own money. It’s just so pricey. :c I normally would have never even picked it up to try due to that price. I’m truly glad I got to try it since I really did like this and it makes me pretty happy now on rainy days. :/ It’s hard since I really dunno what to do once I run out.

Has stevia

I know a lot of people question stevia or do not want products that have stevia in it, this will not be the product for you then. I normally don't but, I took the plunge to try this product out. The taste is ok when you blend it up with other ingredients, I personally do not like drinking on its own. It's about 10.99 right now, lowest price in 30 days. So, this would be the time to buy it if you want to test this drink too.

Nice comforting drink when served warm!

I have only tried this Matcha nutrient blend drink hot, and I really like it. It is warm and creamy, and I can taste the coconut and matcha.I think it's delicious and filled with good nutrients. Very easy to make. I used only 2 tablespoons, instead of the 4 that are recommended. This drink mix is made in Columbia.

Neutral Flavor - Questionable Ingredients - Not Great Alone

I am not sure if I want to drink this daily or alone. Confidence is not too high with this product.- Neutral Taste - The taste is not something I would like to drink for fun or alone. This is probably best mixed with a shake or sweetened or with creamer/milk. I am guessing the stevia is to balance out the naturally bitter taste of cocoa.- Moderate Clumping - There is moderate clumping here when putting it in plain room temperature water. This is doable with some spoon mixing.- Questionable Ingredients - Rice powder, stevia, modified corn starch, rice powder, etc. Not exactly the ingredients I would expect for a health product. Would like more natural and healthy organic ingredients.- Questionable Supplemental Facts - The zinc/vitamin b ingredients are about 30% of recommended daily value for one serving size, is that enough for proper brain function improvement? I am guessing any studies done on brain function maintenance are at least 100% recommended daily value.

Read ingredients

I have a lot of food allergies and sensitivities, and ingredients I just plain avoid, but a cursory look at this drink mix passed muster, and I was really looking forward to trying this. REALLY looking forward to it.Please let this be a reminder to everyone out there: if you are buying anything that goes on your skin or in your body, and you have allergies, sensitivities, or avoid certain ingredients— read the ingredient list. I have no idea how I didn’t do this. That is standard operating procedure in this house. I read the ingredients on EVERYTHING.Except this, apparently. This contains stevia, which may or may not be safe for me, or anybody, to consume. I also have a terrible time with sugar replacements. I cannot take the risk to my digestive system. I have other things to do.Which is why I always read labels. Except this one. Ugh.I am sorry I cannot give you any more information. The one person I know who willingly uses stevia is allergic to chocolate, so this has been untested, and remains sealed. It will be donated to the local food bank. I know *somebody* can use it. It sure sounds delicious and nutritious.Sorry I can’t be of more help here. I truly, truly wanted to. The ONE time I don’t read the ingredients…

Enjoyed This In Tea, Hot Water, Milk, Ice Cream, Greek Yogurt, Diabetic Friendly

I enjoy Matcha but don't often have it at home. I tried this powder mix first in 8oz warm water with 2 tablespoons, mixed with a little whisk. Very good & mild. I added milk which made it even better. Went on to try it blended into hot tea, greek yogurt, and vanilla ice cream. All winners!I haven't used the 4 tablespoons serving size. I only use 1-3 tablespoons at most. This is a treat for occasional use as the price tag won't allow me to buy it often. I struggle with high blood sugar and this mix has close to no sugar in it, so it seems safe for me and others who have glucose issues. It mixes well in liquid using a little whisk, and blends fine into the thicker products. I haven't yet tried it with fruit, but when the weather warms up I look forward to using some in smoothies. This is a tasty, fairly healthy treat that is pleasurably versatile. If it's not sweet enough for your taste, I recommend adding honey or mild sweet fruit like bananas. For me, it's excellent as it is, and adds that smooth Matcha flavor to whatever I like.

keeps me from snacking in between meals

The coconut flavor is really good. I fill my aluminum container with ice water and a scoop of powder several times a day and it keeps me de-hydrated and keeps me from snacking in between meals. It also balances the sweetness and tartness taste that I like.

High level of saturated fat

It is an interesting drink, to say the least. In terms of flavors, it reminds me of the original Ovaltine(but not as sweet). I mix 2 and ½ tbsp of this powder with a cup of water and drink it alone without milk. It is not creamy and is not very favorable other than being sweet (due to Stevia). I could detect some familiar flavors, such as coconut, but there are also other foreign flavors (like cardamon, clove and ginger etc.) that confuse me. With hot water, the mix dissolves easily. I also try one tbsp to a cup of hot coffee. It tastes good as coffee creamer. I have not tried to mix it with cold milk.Nutrition-wise, one serving (a cup) contains whopping 170 calories (by itself). The calories seem to come mainly from fat (13 g; of which 3.6 is omega-3 fatty acid) and carb (12 g). In comparison, one cup of whole cow’s milk contains 4.5 g of fat. In addition, it contains an unspecified amount of caffein because black tea extract is listed in the ingredients.Note that this mix contains 0 g protein, 0 vitamin D and 0 iron. Thus, it is not a good substitute for milk. Each can contains 11 servings (11 cups after being reconstituted). At roughly $2.2/cup, I’m not convinced that its price is justified by the health benefits - this powder mix contains more saturated fat (7 g) than omeg-3 (3.6 g) per serving even consumed by itself without milk. This product is made in Colombia and my can expires on 9/21/2023.

Not a fan

I got a gross fishy aftertaste from this the first time that I used it. I would not drink it on its own because of the taste. The second time I used it with some other smoothie ingredients and didn’t find it as overpowering as the first time, but it was still underlying in the mix. Slightly clumpy and not completely mixed, would recommend using in a high powered blender. My wife didn’t like the taste but didn’t get the same fishy taste that I got, so might vary depending on your tastes.

fishy aftertaste

When I first opened this I was super excited it had such a great matcha scent. I decided to blend my 4 tablespoons with 1% milk to give it some creaminess. It doesn't really say how much liquid to add so I did 1 cup.Tastewise this isn't quite there alone. I ended up blending in some vanilla ice cream to sweeten it up. It says in the ingredients it has stevia but it really wasn't sweet with less than 1gram sugar nutritionwise. So for me I need to add that in.I wish this had vanilla flavoring with the matcha. I think this powder would work best in a smoothie concoction, maybe with some greek yogurt, banana and honey. It is made in Columbia for people concerned about that. The container only has 11 servings. Each serving has 160 calories and 13 grams fat. It does have 3 grams fiber though. To me there was a fishy aftertaste. I looked at the label and there isn't any fish in this but it does say manufacturered in a facility that uses fish oil.Overall it's not bad but does need to be doctored up and you are getting the health benefits of Chia (3600mg omega 3) and coconut oil (MCT).
