Mini size, mighty performance
My iMac is over six years old and cannot accept any further MacOS updates. The Mac mini M2 Pro takes up very little space and has sufficient Thunderbolt and USB sockets for all my needs. I also bought a Dell S3221 QSA monitor to go with it. The curved screen gives me more viewing area than the previous iMac and the height adjustment gives a comfortable platform. The Mac mini is totally quiet, starts up quickly and the new memory performance with silicon architecture means that I can still have several applications open at once without anything crashing. I even run Parallels with Windows 11 for those programs that are not Apple native. A worthwhile upgrade.

Amazing little bit of kit - Cheaper alternative
Bearing in mind that I am aware that I bought an 8GB RAM 256 GB SSD version of the M2 mac mini, I'm aware of the capacity limitations. But as a cheap option to get friends and family on and into the mac ecosystem, this is an excellent jumping-on point. If you need more storage space, attach and use a bigger external SSD and getting mac os installed and booted from that is easy! Cheaper than apple prices.Things to keep in mind, you will need to get yourself an apple compatible keyboard and a mouse. Oh, and a monitor; however this is far cheaper than buying an iMac or mac laptop. If you can afford it and ONLY if you can afford it, consider getting the 16GB - now this is not necessary and the 8GB will be fine, I'm not a youtube or social media poster, so I don't need to be producing high-end videos every 3 minutes for my fan base. This thing can knock day-to-day stuff right out of the park, and if you want to do some video editing it really can do it without issue. I think if you're making feature films, you might want to consider 16GB and more space.Tie yourself into the cloud and your files will be offloaded and ready for use and use little space on your internal drive.Me, I use it for office-based stuff, word, excel, finance, website building, photos, emails and the web. and it can do so much more. Apple Motion is a dream on it too.The only reason I say get the 16 GB if you can afford it, is that you are future-proofing your mac mini for a few more additional years; my last one lasted 12 years!! I only upgraded as I wanted to use the new mac OS features. You really don't need 16 GB; KSP and some other games I occasionally play run very well on high detail on this 8 GB mac mini M2.8 GB will suit you fine, 16 GB is NOT necessary for day-to-day and occasional play. The fan is quiet, I never hear it.Fast booting and a delight to look at and use :-)

Great mini computer but the wifi reception can be a bit poor
My first Apple computer after converting to the iphone for work. Its a powerful little computer for work related tasks and doesn't disappoint.Easy to set up and use, as you would expect from Apple. I've found that the wifi was slow at first using this machine but after some tinkering, I used an extra eero wifi hub in the same room and now the download speed is quicker and connecting at 5gb.I paid the extra 'Apple tax' money and opted for the 16gb pro model, which is better as I did install windows 11 using Parrallels as I feel it needs the extra memory. Parrallels is a yearly subscription and to be fair isn't great value in my honest opinion. I would say this device isn't for gaming as its not well supported outside the apple eco system. These computers are pricey and there are cheaper alternatives to be had but they are well supported.I've mounted it to the back of my compatible monitor using the hideit mount and supplied screws. This works well for me as it doesn't use up desk space.https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07LGGS3RR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Great value
If you want a Mac without paying a ridiculous price for it then this is what you need. Fast, easy to use interface, portable and everything you want in a Mac but at a good price.Negative as usual are the ports, all at the rear so if you have stuff to plug in some form of adaptor is required. Aesthetics over function again by Apple.Other than that, brilliant machine. Whack it into a monitor and you are away. One more thing. The speaker - Ha! So bad it’s funny. I’m sure another two mm of thickness in the unit to have a speaker with some form of bass wouldn’t have been a bad thing.

Best used with an external drive or cloud storage if you have loads of pictures, music etc
Super fast for normal office type tasks as you'd expect with the M2 ® processor etc. Be warned though this has a USB C Thunderbolt ® port ie not the common Apple proprietary one.It does also have a standard RJ44 socket for the Ethernet connection so I used that to migrate from my iMac and returned the Thunderbolt cable I bought with the common Apple proprietary connector. I've plugged in a Lacie external drive to use Time Machine for backing up. I'll also need to plug in another drive to store all my pictures, music etc.Works well rotated 90 deg so all the cables come out the side, and you can easily plug stuff in, but you can still see the "on" light which is now on the side (which is nominally the front). :)This is dead quiet and with the build quality you'd expect from Apple :)

Beast of a pc
I didn't expect this computer to be so efficient, silent and fast. Perfect for my uni work and design hobbies. The only thing is it is a headache to update the software. It isn't the machine's fault, but Apple. Currently trying to update to sequoia but it wouldn't let me do it through conventional means. The only reason for the bump down in rating.Oh and this computer is SMALL. As in I couldn't believe how tight it could fit in my accom room and still deliver like a beast.
