I bought this to replace an ageing set-top box connected to my non-fiction CRT TV. Easy to set up but not without some issues. The description of the remote control in the manual did not match up particularly well with the actual remote....some buttons not explained and descriptions of other buttons that were apparently not on the remote. After scanning and set-up a lot of channels were not where l would have expected them to be...e.g. BBC1 was not on channel 1 (actually on 908) and BBC2 was on channel 909! although ITV, Channel 4 and 5 were on 3,4 and 5 as expected The same applies to a lot of the channels l normally watch.....e.g. 4seven is on 922, Home is on 934, Dave is on 891and Quest is on 968!!.The electronic programme guide (EPG) is very user-unfriendly! Initially every time l changed channels the sub-titles would activate and l would have to manually turn them off but l now seem to have cured that (although l am not sure how l did it!) Having said all that, it works well but can be very frustrating in a lot of respects. Good luck!

WORKS OK BUT SOMETIMES IT DROPS EVERYTHING AND JUMPS BACK TO MAIN BOOT PAGE. COVER ON BACK OF CONTROL KEEPS FALLING OFF, SOMETIMES WHEN YOU SWITCH OFF THE UNIT AND TV AND TURN ON AGAIN IT WILL NOT BOOT UP AND GOES TO BLACK SCREEN.IT HAS BEEN JUST OVER A MONTH AND I CAN UPDATE THIS REVIEW! I AM UPSET NOW FULLY, IT HAS GOT WORSE TO START UP, MAINTAIN CHANNELS, NOW AN ELECTRICAL NOISE AS IF SHORTING I HOPE IT DOES NOT BURN DOWN THE APPARTMENTS WHEN WE ARE OUT THERES 18 FLOORS! Worse is they closed the return box after a short time with a product and seems amazon is not accepting responsibility for a product not more then 2 months old. Is it worth using Amazon I would ask if buying anything on this site, used to be excellent but now most worrying this internet buying

The exact size I wanted but changed my television set so it has not been used.

I use freesat on my television and on the set top box to record two channels. There are the odd occasions when recording three channels is an advantage and as I have a terrestrial aerial I decided to get one of these boxes to record an extra channel when required. The instructions are a little quirky. To record is OK (Once you have installed an SD card or memory stick) To playback you have to go to menu then USB and then multimedia and finally PVR. You can then play your recordings. I starts playing in a small window, to go to full screen press the red button. The recording quality is good. The price of the box is very good. For what it is it is hard to fault.

First impressions were really good. In use, it occasionally re-boots when changing channel. You then find some of the channel numbers have been changed and you have to re-scan them.The SD / USB recording function works well giving you the ability to watch the content on any compatible device.

It is working properly now and I am pleased with it, but I am worried that when first plugged in nothing lit up. Then while checking confections it took a slight knock and lit up and worked. so I am slightly worried something might be lose inside.Unfortunately as I reported when the item arrived it did not work, not light up at all. Then after a small fall and jolt started to do so. It has worked until now me recording on two different dongles. I was able to watch things I recorded until two days ago. although the items recorded are listed they will no longer play back, but will when plugged into my computer. |Also when ever I try to record I get an error message.

This is OK but I should have ordered one with built in HDD for recording. It also does not tune in to all the channels our old one did, despite many attempts to re-scan. Would not buy this again, there are better at similar price.

This set top box is extremely easy to install and use, a very good price, this does mean that the technology is a little old school, such as needing to add a memory stick to enable recording, however these are usually inexpensive additionsFor the price this is a very useful set top box which works well and the company which supplies the box are very helpful if any advice is required.
