I’ve used a number of testers over the years and this is by far the best. It tests almost every kind of connection possible and it’s built like a tank. Fantastic tester.

I’m very pleased with this tester. It’s well built and seems to be a solid casings unit. For the price you can’t beat it. Works great in my studio for all my cables and connectors. A must for anyone who is in the lighting and audio business. I gave it 5 stars

I should have spent more time reading through the ad & paying attention to the features. All in all, it's well made, but it doesn't have features that I think it should have & it has instructions that do not make sense to me. It has a 1/4" TRS checker, but it doesn't do a standard 1/4" plug (TS), better known as a standard guitar cable or cord. As a life long musician, former touring musician, gear head & guitar player. I would say that 90% of the cables that I need to test & the ones that by far get the most abuse & therefore most often NEED to be tested are guitar cables. Guitar cables are simple two connector/wire cables with a 1/4" plug on each end. The cables that have a sheild are called "sheilded twisted pair" (STP). The cables with STP are used to run from the guitar to the amp. They often get stepped on or just plain walked on. They take a lot of abuse. The go bad often. Often times, the cable is stepped on & the person who has it plugged into their guitar (or bass) is walking & the person goes one way the the cable that has another person standing on it goes nowhere. Thus, either the plug gets damaged or the cable gets pulled off & breaks the solder joint that holds it to the plug. Some times the cable is damaged inside, where it was stepped on, so often times it is hard to tell a good cable from a bad one. That's where the cable tester comes in. If I only have to plug one end of the cable into one side of the tester & the other end of the cable into the other side of the tester & see if the LED lights up to know if my cable is good, that is very easy to do & ends all disputes over is this cable good or not. This tester cannot do that. If I would have noticed it sooner, I would have returned it. If it was mentioned in the ad, I never would have purchased it. It is simply a poor design. They also didn't supply any probes for the continuity checker. That's just sad. Don't waste your money on this one. The same company makes one that does all that this one can & more for $2 or so more.
