Very bright - worked well.
Light therapy is NOT a placebo science - it's a well recognised treatment including the NHS, which has several pages on NHS.uk about it.I've had "advanced sleep phase disorder" for several years now, and it has never bothered me up until recently. This is an extreme form of "Early bird" sleeping where a person begins feeling very sleep early in the evening, even around 6pm, and then often wakes at 2 or 3am in the morning!I've worked around this in the past by moving my night routine to the morning - watching film, shopping for things online, answering emails.Recently though I've needed to be up "late" in the evening for some business. Being awake wasn't good enough - I needed to be alert and not fighting my eyelids. Sadly coffee did not work for me.I read on the Wiki page about ways of treating ASPD, and it suggested light therapy to nudge the fast running circadian rhythm back two or three hours.I was looking on Amazon for light therapy boxes, and soon realised I did not want to be looking at a white light box for an hour while my eyes soaked up the bright rays.I continued looking and eventually found these glasses - they sit high on the bridge of the nose (which is adjustable), and enabled me to read my kindle, or use my laptop rather than peering at a light box. Don't get me wrong - it's tricky to see my book past the light produced by the Luminette 2, but it was possible - NOT something the light boxes enabled me to do.I've had them now for a month - because I've read some of these reviews mentioned faults or the device not working as intended I've not written my review straight away.My light glasses are still working perfectly, and I've managed to alter my sleep cycle forward by three hours. It's taken the entire month but I was able to - thanks to these light glasses. In photo A, you can see the Luminette 2's protective case, DOUBLE USB power supply (1 can be used for charging your phone), lens cloth and glasses carry string, the guarantee, and instruction book in many languages.Photo B shows the glasses folded, with the nose rest to the side.Photo C has the nose rest attached to the glasses, and the glasses open.In photo D you can see the main areas you need to be familiar with of the Luminette 2 glasses.-On the far left of the image by the screw hole, is the micro USB slot for charging.-Next to that further right is the right hand array of 4 FULL SPECTRUM LED's.-Then there's the 3 level adjustable nose rest.-To its right is the left eyes 4 full spectrum LED's,-Finally on the far right of the image is the power/brightness control button.Photo E shows the glasses on. Of note:The two arrays of LED's which number 8 in total are FULL SPECTRUM blue/white light which ensures the photosensitive cells in the back of the eye's retina are stimulated properly and with maximum efficiency. Most LED's produce bands of light colours which "add up" to a kind of whitish light, but not true full spectrum light. Chemically this makes a difference to the receptors in the eye.The glasses have a diffusing diffraction grating below each LED array - this both diffuses the light emitted by the LED's and also spreads the light frequency from blue to red which reduces glare making it possible to see past the light produced by the glasses, as well as reduce uncomfortable glare while ensuring the eyes receive the same amount of light energy.Photo F shows the glasses straight on - showing their strength, of which there is no substitute when working with light therapy.Charging is easy - you plug them in, and one light array flashes slowly until they're charged. To use them you simply press the power button until the lights illuminate at their lowest. Each quick press after this cycles through one of 3 brightness levels. A long press then turns the glasses off.I've found at about 45 minutes per night, they need recharging every 3 days. Though I leave the USB plug by my desk, so when I put them down I routinely plug them back in.The only negatives I've seen are the nose rest is quite loose when you take them off, and benefited from a little blob of bluetac inside. Also the power button doesn't "click" when pressed, making it a bit hard to judge just how hard to press it.I didn't find the frame fragile at all - the construction is solid plastic with strong hinges held in place by screws. So far so good - I hope they last many many years to come, and that my review's been helpful to you.

Worked for nearly 3 years
I have been using this for two weeks now, for DSPD (delayed sleep phase), and I can really feel the difference. I have a lot more energy during the morning and the early afternoon, and then I start feeling tired in the evening which is unheard of. I feel pretty positive after using them, and my mood has been better than a usual winter. The glasses are easy to use and you can do other things while using them if there's ambient light. They leave a little red mark on my nose for a short time afterwards, and the ear pieces were really uncomfortable at first. The battery indicator doesn't seem to be working right even when you fully charge as instructed, it usually only says 1/4 or 4/4 and one time it said 4/4 and then ran out of battery during use. They come with a nice case and accessories.I haven't used other light glasses, but two reasons I chose these over a competitor are because this one required a shorter time and because this one's design made me feel less silly wearing them (and therefore it's easier to stick with it).Edit: these stopped working in November 2021. I knocked a star off, but I'd probably still buy this.

Fantastic Glasses.
Cannot believe how much this has helped me gain back the spring in my step in the morning. I have always had trouble getting to sleep and waking up in the morning and have tried everything and was getting to my wit's end. After reading an article on how light therapy had shown to improve the bodies balance. First few days were a little bit iffy, wearing it first thing when I woke up but after the fourth day I started sleeping on time straight away. I figured I couldn't say for sure whether the light therapy had helped but after sleeping soundly the next 7 days and having so much more energy I literally can't understand why this isn't prescribed by doctors.I would really recommend trying this if you are lethargic, have a lack or energy or sleeping. My only bug bear with the glasses is they sit on the nose could do with some padding but is a small issue considering the massive benefit.

Luminette 2 really lights my day!
I have had Seasonal Affective Disorder for many years and needed a new light visor to get me through the winter. The Luminette 2 is comfortable to wear and it does not overheat the eyes. This means I can wear it for the full therapeutic dose without eye strain. I love the rainbow spectrum and the use of LEDs means it really is cool! I find people do ask why I have lights on my head, but mostly they are curious and politely interested and they want to know about SAD. I would certainly recommend it to anyone with the winter blues. My brother travels a lot by plane and gets jet lag, so I propose letting him borrow my Luminette 2 to see how he gets on with it!
