Q: Do you always have to keep a hand on the baby while in this carrier?

No, not if you’re upright. I can push the grocery cart, wash the dishes, fold laundry, do light housework while my baby is in the sling. Keep your hand(s) on baby when leaning forward to bending over though, to keep her from swinging around and becoming less secure. For what it’s worth, this is baby number five for me, and this is my favorite carrier!
