Great whistle.I bought three of these - keeping one as a spare and a friend took another. I've trained my collie (from 6 month - now 10 month old) to always return and sit at heel in response to high pitch tone. He learned this in three attempts. The lower tone is used as a 'stay' command which took slightly longer but now he can be walked safely off lead (except that busiest roads but this is probably my lack of confidence) and he will stop and wait for 'go' command.I might now venture into double or triple signals.

Have ordered two of them. One whistle does not function well, meaning that only one side is working. Other than that - great product. Dogs seem to react fairly fast :) Really helps when training recall.

There are two tones with this whistle. It seems quite sturdy. Haven't used it to attract dogs attention as yet so can't comment on whether it works or not.

First one did not work so had to be replaced. The replacement is not that loud, you have to blow it 'just right' to get any volume. Blow too hard and it stops whistling totally, too soft and its very quiet and that's the 'good' end.

I have been using this whistle for a long time now and my dog is trained to come back on it when blown. I have even bought a spare one just in case i loose my original, as he recognises the whistle tone. There are two tones so it could be use for two different dogs to recall them separately. Very sturdy plastic, i'm sure i could probably stand on it and it wouldn't break but i'm not going to try it.

The item is great value

My dog who is going dead can't hear it so a waste really it's the wrong pitch for us.

I love this whistle for my dog. While I have not trained him to a whistle before, I needed a sharp sound that could cut through the haze of prey drive to call him back to me. This whistle does that. It's the only thing I've found that can humanely break his concentration and allow me to issue a recall.I've tried other whistles, but this one has a clear tone that carries the distance that I need when my boy is off at high speeds headed away from me. Also has the option for a clear, but quiet tone for recall from the end of the long yard without hollering his name at 7am.All in all, we're very happy with this product...though I suspect the dogs happiness has more to do with the chicken I paired with successful recall lol.We keep the whistle hanging by the back door and as you can see from his face, positive reinforcement is the best method for this dog. He's a rescue.I definitely recommend this product. Whistle recall training has really helped us.
