Edge trimmer for real wood veneer edges and melamine edge trimmings, also known as ironing edges. Edge trimmers, for flush cutting of temple edges, has been offered for a long time. Our goal was to develop an edge cutter for inexperienced users with which you can get the edge overhangs up to a thickness of 0.8 mm safely and flush without damaging the edges or the work piece. How does it work with the patented make-self edge trimmer? We use a burr-free insert made of stainless steel, which requires no additional attachments. The support surface and the cutting edge is due to principle at the same height and must therefore not be adjusted! The edge overhang is not cut with a sharp edge, but only with a blunt edge. This principle has two advantages: there is no sharp cutting edge that can dig into the work piece surface and injure it. For long-fibre veneer edges, a sharp edge may cause the edge to split in the grain, damaging the edge. By repelling the edge with the blunt cut surface, this effect is effectively avoided. The tool works optimally with an edge overhang of 1 mm to a maximum of 4 mm to the work piece surface, poor edge quality or insufficient edge overhang can impair the function. Caution: clamp the work piece for machining so that enough pressure can be applied to the tool.
