Lovely 26 track compilation which highlights virtually all of The Four Seasons best material over 2 distinct periods. The early hits (1962-1967), which demonstrate Frankie Valli's gorgeous falsetto vocal abilities, including the likes of 'Sherry', 'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'Walk Like A Man', 'Rag Doll' and 'Let's Hang On' are joined by some interesting curios such as 'Dawn (Go Away)' whilst the 1970s material is perhaps even better. Valli's 'My Eyes Adored You' is a timeless ballad, 'Grease' needs no introduction to fans of the musical of the same name, 'The Night' (originally recorded on the Motown label in 1972) finally gained well deserved chart recognition in 1975 whilst 'Who Loves You', 'December 1963 (Oh What A Night)' and the supremely crafted 'Silver Star' provide a very strong ending to this LP. My only note of criticism would be that some of the 1960s material feels a little weak and I would certainly have liked to have heard 1966's 'Opus 17 (Don't You Worry 'Bout Me)' and 1977's 'Rhapsody' and 'Down The Hall' on this retrospective. Otherwise, this is a well-constructed album with some excellent liner notes about the band's history. Recommended.

Beat preciosista y peculiar de los años sesenta

I was walking around in a London Drugs, in town here, and I heard a song that I had bought, on 45, back when I was in grade one! That was the most awesome song and the first one in my long line of music buying throughout my life! I don't know what ever happened to the 45 but, as soon as I heard it in the store I knew it and I had to buy it again! Well, I asked about it and they never had it, but they knew who it was and then I went on the hunt.I ended up getting it from Amazon because I couldn't find it anywhere here! Now I have all their hits and I really enjoy them! In fact, of course, there is all the other music, other than the one that I wanted, on the CD and I only recognize two of the songs on it, the one that I wanted and another song that I never even realized it was them who did it, but the whole CD is really good! Totally an excellent CD overall!! Ah to remember the past! Well, I don't suppose that your like me, I've had four strokes and anything that I can lay my hands on that reminds me of the past is a great thing! Ha ha! See ya!!
